  1. Interesting and makes sense. Those pressure wind relationships with Matthew, Irma, and Dorian just did not make sense. Irma was a decent sized hurricane and the SFMR showed 160 kt while it was still 926 mb. Irma was probably likely 145-150 kt, same with Dorian. Matthew was probably 125 kt max.
  2. Torching up to 66, just went swimming in the lake, first time I’ve been in the lake in November. Water still feels warm.
  3. Straight torching today, might hit 65. Lake is still in the mid 50s so I’m going swimming.
  4. A very disappointing season outside of Ida, guess we were due.
  5. No location got 155 kt winds in either Irma or Dorian. If they did they would have been completely flattened. They were Cat 5’s just like all the others. I do think the only hurricane that you could debate as Cat 6 would be 1935 Labor Day.
  6. Lots of trees still completely green and others completely changed over and now bare since their leaves got blown off.
  7. It’s over. Worst quality season since 2015 probably.
  8. What’s it looking like for SE WI? Thinking of heading up the Lapham Peak tower maybe I can get 65-70 kt winds again
  9. Other than Ida, meh. Thank god it was a daytime landfall but doesn’t really compare to Michael, probably since strongest winds were in the swamps
  10. It feels like another free month of summer I’ll take it. When the pattern changes it’s gonna be a shock for sure, I feel like it’s been pretty summer like since April.
  11. Damn that’s brutal reminds me of what happened to Frances and Isabel lol. Such a low latitude that’s really strange. I wonder if it can recover.
  12. Hella good pressure estimate before recon get in.
  13. I’d love to experience a hurricane up there sometime. Beautiful northern forest and hurricane force winds. Would just set myself up on an exposed ridge on an observation tower. Probably be hard to stay warm though.
  14. Lol where’s the hail, or the rain? The line literally split up right on top of me.
  15. Very good points Naso, props. We just need a strong Cat 4 to hit the South FL megalopolis. Areas outside of south Miami haven’t been hit with a major since 1949.
  16. Josh still MIA. I mean damn I know it’s frustrating to completely miss the eye, wonder what his explanation will be. People are all worried about him on his feed. Hmm. Not good for business.
  17. Thank god this is coming in at the perfect time, high tide and midday. Hoping some Grand Isle cams can make it through.
  18. I can’t recall, did any of the models indicate Michael would get into the 920’s? I feel like that kinda sneaked up on us, everyone was thinking low end Cat 4 at most.
  19. Getting Delta vibes… get this act together already
  20. Hopefully not another boring Shrimpland landfall that doesn’t destroy anything and chasers can’t get major hurricane winds. It’s only been a year since Laura so I really doubt it’s gonna hit that same area at least.
  21. Hopefully chasers can get gusts over 100 to film
  22. Was on top an observation tower on Lapham Peak and wind was definitely hurricane force at times, I kept getting pushed around and was unable to stand up.
  23. Talk about bust... why do I let myself get excited lol. Think max wind was 25 kt?
  24. Up into Moderate Risk now, getting that hurricane anticipation excitement
  25. Loving the latest NAM 3k for here. I’ll be on the beach, the pics of this rolling in from the north would be epic.
