I apologize if this has already been posted but... what are some good radar sites of the US available other than weather.cod.edu? (Regional radars haven't updated since 21:50 UTC.)

Coming soon: tropical season
It had the radar appearance of a near-classic subtropical system just off the North Carolina coast pre-dawn this morning.

Lol, the 18z FV3 has a 68 hour snowstorm at the end of its run.
In my head: Lol, the 18z FV3 has a 60+ hour snowstorm near the end of the run.
*sees your post*

I wonder if I can win last place trophy? Just need the DC/Balt corridor to have a great run over the next several weeks while Richmond and Salisbury get nothing or near nothing and I've clinched it.

About to start February the right way.

The GBMx model looks very intriguing around Valentines Day.

Love the line of snow squalls on the arctic front midday Wednesday on the 18z NAM nest. Forecast soundings show impressive low and mid-level lapse rates!
I do like the thin slither of positive CAPE showing up above the -20C line on skew-t soundings. Assuming that the snow squall potential is realized, then perhaps the T word and S word combo make an appearance in some spots?... Just thinking out loud.

I just want 6" of thundersnow in 2 hours. Seems reasonable
6" of snow in 2 hours is boring. 36" of snow in 2 hours would be EPIC! Maybe we can get TWO cat 5s up the Potomac this year as well. Imagine seeing 36" of snow in 2 hours followed by 2 cat 5s up the Potomac in the same year! Maybe we can score a couple tornadoes with the thundersnow squall as well.

Getting some decent wind gusts in Herndon, VA blowing trash cans over and spilling their contents.
IAD just gusted to 51mph.

Euro brings max gust winds over 50 mph as the artic front passes Sunday am and its still has precip around . Geez...Monday is insane in the membrain... highs 7-13 area wide with gusts 30 - 35 +. I'm suppose to be running an outdoor feeder wire to a garage that day
Are you describing the 12z run or 18z run?

The top 3 have departures due to going low and are already below the airport total for the most part...better hope no more snow because your departure grows..I like having room for more snow on January 16th.
True. Just as long as we don't end up anywhere near:
IAD: 58.1"
BWI: 53.7"
DCA: 35.1"
RIC: 25.7"
SBY: 27.8"
That'd be disastrous.

I am horrific at poems lol.
I dont think I have a song that addresses snow on snow on snow, I'll look around, but I think the weather WILL come around for the Mid Atlantic. The models will come around as well.
You're gonna get smashed by snow.
Only smashed and not SHELLACKED or ANNIHILATED? We pass.

Need Richmond and Salisbury to win bigly with training HECSs while we watch and cheer happily for them. Perhaps when we get into the potential vodka cold period at the end of the month?

I swear when I'm inside I can see snow falling. Not snow falling outside, snow falling inside. I don't think this has happened before.
I often experience actually being able to "see snow falling" as well when I have my eyes closed after a longer snow event. I also saw trees swaying in the wind while my eyes were closed right as the March 2nd wind event was winding down.
Aaaaaaaaand now you all think I'm crazy sauce. I'll stop while I'm ahead.

I can find good use for it especially in the August-October timeframe.

Just took the dog for a nice long walk. High clouds off in the distance. Stars to the east. But not to the west. It just SMELLS like a snow storm to me. Maybe a placebo effect?
I'm guessing you don't have much light pollution where you are to be able to notice that detail?
ETA: 27/15 IAD.

Indeed. Always happens. "You guys in DC enjoy it, I'll be smoking cirrus"
Storm time: Wow! I can't believe it, it's puking fatties outside! Up to 3" in 12 minutes!!!
Meh and zzzzz sauce. That's only 15"/hr. @RDM experienced 18"+/hr snowfall rates.
Have you tried the meh sauce on a Big Mac though? It's absolutely heavenly.

What does she say about the rest of the Year? Anything interesting like blizzards, severe weather outbreaks, hurricanes, etc in our neck of the woods?
