I used to be able to bring quotes on Tapatalk from one thread to another. Now I can’t. Anyone know a way to do that?

    .

Click the "+" symbol at the bottom of the post you want to quote. A box saying "Quote 1 post" will pop up at the bottom right of the screen. Ignore it (don't close it) and go to the thread where you want to respond to the post. The box saying "Quote 1 post" will reappear at the bottom right of your screen. This time click it. The post that you quoted will show up at the bottom of the screen. Respond away.

    Hope that works for you.

My sleep schedule is going to be so effed if we go straight into tracking a potential storm next weekend too....wouldn’t change it for anything though!

Definitely the March windstorm. Scary and prolonged event. Nothing freaks me out like wind.

    We do wind well, sadly.

    Not tropical wind though. ;)

...And yeah the March 2nd wind event blows everything else out the water for me last year. Adrenaline pumping and prolonged event. Nothing excites me like wind.

We don't do tropical wind well, sadly.

Don't worry folks between mid March and mid April we will probably have a bunch of rainy nor'easters that drop 6" of rain each with winds gusting to 60 mph.

In other words, multiple hits from somewhat decent tropical compared to what we usually see around here. We abscond.

Surprisingly cold last night.  21F for the low.  Frost had formed by 7PM.  Had to scrape the cars before we left the inlaws last evening.  Thick frost this AM.

Received a coating... of frost this morning in Herndon, VA. I also experienced vision blinding frost covering the car before midnight last night.

    White Christmas: Check

Low of 22F at IAD this morning.

I echo everyone else in here when I say I am very glad that you and your family are okay. That is a truly scary experience indeed that I hope doesn't negatively effect your family in the longer run.

Not that it matters (just being Curious George here) but what mall was this? I assume in the Winchester area?

Ah, well the guy who won was a nice guy too. Just felt that the other guy controlled the end game well. It was a great season, people are are always surprised it’s on season 37 but it’s still great! Been on (literally) my whole life and still great.

Oh no doubt. That's the impression I got from watching the finale at least (didn't really watch any of the other episodes, lol).

Anyone watch Survivor here? I was really pulling for the other guy. Bummed.

Believe it or not I did just watch it (brother is a fan). He was rooting for the guy that won though, not the one you wanted.

1-2" of ice is not epic... a FOOT of ice is epic. Maybe we can get a cat 5 up the Potomac AND a foot of ice in the same year. I'd retire from tracking weather if that happened.

Just don't kill too many bunnies if we end up with just 10" of ice accretion and a cat 4 up the Potomac and we're good ;).

Ohh trust me...if I could...ya know, I'm actually not sure I'd use it. Too much responsibility for negative outcomes that can come from deep snowstorms!

Just lend me the keys. A legit 1-2"+ ice storm would be quite epic.

Well, I broke the tie lol. Kind of surprised I never voted yet going this long. Any who, I voted for Feb 5-6, 2018 because it was incredible to follow for the days leading up and boy did it deliver. 32.5" later at my old home north of Baltimore. Most snow I ever saw until 2016. That storm was incredible in terms of impact. Feb 9-10 will always have a special place in my heart for the blizzard conditions occurring during the height with 40-50" base around my neighborhood. Not sure I'll ever see that much snow at once where I live ever again. Magical. 2016 might have been my biggest snowfall, but I was working during the event and really stressed out, so I didn't enjoy it as much as I would've liked. I'll certainly never forget it.

As far as pure impact goes, Feb 2006 is not up there with the big guns, but with regards to impact on me, it was the storm that made my decision to become a meteorologist instead of going for a major in accounting. I was in HS deciding where to go to school, and that storm made me realize how much I wanted to become a meteorologist and forecast the weather, fulfilling my dream of working with the Weather Service. Now, here I am, 12 years later doing what I aspired. That storm, and it's 4.75"/hr rates, thunder and lightning, and measuring in shorts and snow boots will always be etched in my mind.

I really should not be having memory problems of this magnitude at this age . Try as I might I cannot remember such a big snowstorm occurring in these parts earlier this year :(. All I remember from February is it being freakishly warm at times especially on the 21st. IAD hit 80F that day with DCA hitting 82F lol. I do remember one event this past February giving me in Herndon, VA 1.2" of snow/sleet. I do remember all the other big storms that you mentioned though those were some very fun times indeed.

How did the pattern transpire in order for this storm to occur? Also should I be worried that I cannot remember this event?

The last band of heavy precip that came through about an hour ago mixed with snow here. Big wet slush bombs for about 15 mins.

How did your neighborhood fare? Do you have good homeowners insurance? Take as many pictures of the damage as you can. It will help greatly with making claims. Good luck PSU.

ETA: Also I know that I'm a bit late with this but good luck with your recovery as well.

My wife is pregnant with our 3rd child- I have an hour's drive up to Annapolis with her for a scan on Dec. 27. This is the one appt. that cannot be rescheduled.

You can bet on us getting shutout this entire month EXCEPT a region-wide MECS on that day, trust me.

Congrats Prince! I'm excited for your family..... and our MECS!
