You know, there is probably a greater-than-zero chance of this winning now. If this guy wins I will never hold this contest again.

So believe it or not I actually DIDNOT forget about changing my predictions. I just thought that I would be smart and pull an extreme WxWatcher007 and post my totals at 11:58pm that night which I did..... or rather, tried to do.

My "plan" ended up being the biggliest flop blowing up in my face like Tsar Bomba. I had even posted this statement above my real predictions to start lol:

" @PrinceFrederickWx you thought you were going to have to live with my troll forecast being in your database didn't you." My totals were actually towards the higher-end of all the other posts on here.

But then at 11:58:30 pm est on November 30, 2018 when I attempted to post my totals it wouldn't let me post them because the thread had already locked :(

Kids the lesson here is don't wait until the last minute to do your homework or your big project that is worth 90% of your grade.

Now if I somehow won with these joke totals it would be very cool and gratifying... but would also be at the expense of this forum's sanity... heck probably the expense of this forum, period... and thousands of puppies... and bunnies... total and complete carnage.

Correct.  That's why that storm will happen as is.  It's a lock and there will be no changes.  I'm not even joking.   Imagine if we loved rain.   This hobby would be 90% less stressful.

I don't know about you but I'm always down for a significant tropical system no matter the time of year. Now let me just remind you... I'm not a puppy so don't...

    ...well you know.

  3. Sweet thumpanzees in Mamma Mia's nightgown! What the flippity flop a dippery dop model is this?! Whatever it is, it seems like the n/s vort drops in and phases with the s/s vort provides a BIG late save for us... so big that the surface low actually moves NNW to near the tip of Long Island, NY lol!

Note the liquid equivalent rates in excess of 1.50"/hr over much of the forum area. I don't know exactly how temperature profiles look but that has got to be 18"+/hr snowfall rates! Absolutely unreal! It dumps in excess of 3 meters of snow through much of the forum in a SSE to NNW axis (locally 4-5 meters, especially in the mountains). :ee:Winds have got to be hurricane force... at least in gusts. :twister:

Also notice New England starting to get annihilated by warm tropical rains and what has got to be hurricane force winds.

The phase/capture of the storm is so weird and unnatural. It makes the storm unnaturally strong and moist kinda like a weenie with way too much time on his hands whipped this up just to aleet everyone of his dominance in Weenieingtonsville thinking that people would actually find him funny.

    WHO MADED THIS?!!

...3 meters of snow in 2 days ...

...True white out conditions in Austria... My friends and I were only 15-20 feet apart and we could not even begin to see each other and barely hear each other.  After several moments I didn't realize I'd developed white-out vertigo and was falling over until my head hit the ground... It was over in about 20 mins, but only after dumping well over 6"...

...Tons of snow,... ...It's surreal to drive through a narrow gully of snow 60 feet high...

18"+/hr snowfall rates?!! :ee:  Did you observe any thunder or lightning with the squall?

Also I believe that I speak for most on this forum when I say that you need to do a snowdance for us stat!!

Yeah, I know. The version we a have now though is new enough that I am not sure if the suppression rule is still in play or not. At times it seemed as if it were and other times not so much.

When does the FV3 get launched?

Late January IIRC. Don't quote me on that though.

    ETA: Ninja'd.

With the Arctic front through my area I was drawn back to one of the greatest events I’ve ever seen.

Do you know the earliest by chance? Just curious.

    .

Looking and thinking back, the earliest date in a year that I ever saw lightning was January 26th of 2011 from an unusual event that went from thunderstorms with small hail (heavy sleet/graupel?) to a heavy wet snow.

I have family in the south now, so I have gone there the last decade or so for the holidays. I've grown to like 70 and sun on Thanksgiving. Great football weather...

That said, after nearly touching 80 with a tornado warning on Christmas Eve or Christmas in 2016, I decided I would spare no expense to get the family further north for Christmas. I'm not doing that again.

Honestly, having it be warm and comfortable on Thanksgiving is ideal. If it’s a torch and there’s no sign of an end to the flamethrower coming off the Pacific, then it might be a different story, but all things being equal I much prefer a Thanksgiving during which you can open the windows and doors, fry a turkey without losing feeling in your fingers, and let the kids run around without freezing their arses off!

We’re going to have 20 people at my house for Christmas, and the kids can end up with frostbite for all I care. Christmas is a different beast altogether.

Knowing what may be in store for Dec I guess I can deal with it and hide in the basement.  You did make a compelling counterpoint however.

Christmas is usually 70 so we need a cold Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving is best with a sweater and a roaring fire, along with a strong ale to warm you up. Plus the oven and stove is going heating up the house. This windows open birds singing 70 degrees crap sounds more like Easter to me. Thanksgiving is not a holiday to spend on the patio unless you live in the South or LA.

Sunny and mid 40s works for me for Thanksgiving, with temps falling into the upper 30s as the sun is setting at about 430 PM.

I don't know a Tornado Warning followed by an EF-1 moving over me with 80/low70s temp/dewpt sounds like a lot of fun to me. No matter how hard I try I can never get my family to agree with me though. As for Christmas, give me a Super Typhoon Haiyan strength hurricane shooting NNW from the central NC coast at 70 mph.

These will make my entire holiday season.

If neither of those, then just give me a blizzard with 10"/hr snowfall rates and hurricane force winds that would create drifts 5-10+ stores high and we'd be okay.
