  1. You must be new here - welcome to the forum!
  2. My WWA doesn't start until 10P tonight for 1" of snow.
  3. It's legit - I'm directly east of you and we're pushing over 2" as well
  4. yup about 2" here, grass disappearing, mod sn ATM
  5. I'm liking this new version of Randy that returned from Houston. We should start a pool to send you to TX in Dec every year - lead us to the promised land!
  6. still nice mod snow with big flakes, ground caving except for pavement
  7. Yup we can normally see Berryville from up on the mountain, but Berryville has disappeared. Visibility under 1 mile right now.
  8. Ripping mod to heavy snow with nice big flakes - cartopper achieved, ground started to whiten
  9. Yup Philly is absolutely toast for this one.
  10. Roads were heavily brined out here in WV today -- I'm confident it's a sign that something may or may not happen.
  11. Apparently GFS has heard the pitiful cries of the western crew......
  12. It may be that we actually NEED you in town to get a decent snowstorm.
  13. What are the primary factors that influence your thinking for the "target" elevation in a given storm? Eg, sometimes you give 600', others 800 or 1000 or 1,500 etc.
  14. Any guesses on how far east the squall is going to get?
  15. Weenies gonna weenie - a lot are just here for the snow. Agree this is pretty rare for our area, we got about an inch of fresh powder on top of the snowcrete - super cold temps - deep winter around here, plus some interesting dynamics to watch tonight. Really can't ask for better. It will be like Antarctica for a few hours.
  16. Yeah it's kind of interesting that the overall dry/minor drought thing has persisted from the summer, fall, and right into winter even with the various large-scale pattern changes. Usually it tends to snap back at some point.....
  17. WxUSAF's strong ass frontal passage thing?
  18. Yeah - we figured that out about 15 years ago and never looked back. Commute a pain, but if you can swing remote work and only commute 2 days a week, then it's well worth it.
  19. Super-happy you found a place to chase -- welcome to WV.
  20. I WOULD say bring it - we have plenty of space - but being in the BR, I can't guarantee that you'll be able to get out before Tues or maybe even Wed. In 2016 it took them 3 days to get to us with large bulldozers driving down the middle of the road. Dump trucks couldn't push it.
