  1. Merry Christmas to all. Not much to celebrate on the long range looks at the moment, is there? Oh well
  2. Enjoying the sunshine, but it's a bit toasty.
  3. Yes, I was in Harrisburg PA for that. We got like 8" of snow then an epic glacier on top. I was in HS at the time and my school closed for a week.
  4. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but the last time the inner burbs/DC really did well in a sleet bomb was like... March 2018? Or was that 2017? I recall playing with my kid in a thick crust of pellets. Anyway, I'll believe the ice accums when I see what temps are around my neck of the woods on Friday during the day. Trying to head out of town Sat AM... will be a slushy passable mess by then on our always busy roads, I'm sure.
  5. Lol we are all leaving at the right time. Headed to the OBX between Xmas and new years. Hoping to hit 75
  6. Decent rain here since squall came thru around 7. Skies clearing west.
  7. This is what I mean when I say I am a winter weather weenie. Morning temperatures in the teens even here in the Urban heat island. Snow cover that sticks around for 48 plus hours and it's before December 21st. Invigorating!
  8. 18 here in silver spring inside the beltway. Cold for December! Hope we hit single diggies and permanent glacier in January
  9. Lol wasn't epic for those of us in Takoma Park getting 5" of slop and dryslot, IIRC
  10. We just visited friends in Brookland and there is still snow and ice on the roads in spots that are shaded. Frosty out there
  11. Woke up at 4am in silver spring to take a peek outside and to my surprise it was just pixie dust, not even a coating. Back to bed and up again at 7am to the last flakes, and a coating of maybe 1.5". Congrats to those to the N and NE!
  12. lol I was going to say. 25mg and my consciousness would be merging with the 00z NAM to produce 18" accumulations in silver spring
  13. It lit up some clouds over downtown silver spring at sunset
  14. Thanks for the data. I moved to the area in 2010. And this has felt like the coldest December I can remember.
  15. Up here near downtown silver spring, my bar for "good storm" is whether or not GA ave caves. With a good thumping of thicc fatties, it can happen with 3" or so. But we're at 41 degrees here today so need those rates
  16. No idea who this is but i like what they're saying
  17. I remember being outside with my kid 48 hours after the storm and it was drip drip drip in the warm January sun. The way it can really cook around here that time of year lol
  18. Is this transferable across space and time? If so I'll drive you to Wisp this weekend for $3k
  19. Sref is a JV ensemble. This thing is gonna jackpot DC and Baltimore
  20. I hope the broader Baltimore crew hits on this one. 4 plus inches. They're due
