  1. well only one of them was snow lol. Some of my friends are already sick and tired of winter and want spring to come already....I was told dont tell me what the weather is going to be unless it's going to be above 50 degrees and sunny every day!
  2. this is awesome and has been going on for over a year now, warmth to the north and cold to the south (compare Maine temps vs Florida)
  3. no, as Don said, it's the blocking that will decide what will happen.....thats why the first half of January is being targeted.
  4. right that is the period I'm looking at also. Anyone who thought we would have another snowstorm in December was foolish. That's not how our climatology works. The period I've been looking at is a little later than yours though, between the 5th and the 10th. Panic is for the weak-minded.
  5. Yeah this is normal now lol. The warmth more than the 10" pre solstice snowfall....
  6. SSW is the biggest single event that can change a pattern, there's usually a 2-4 week delay between the event and the change, right Chris?
  7. Maybe there's some small hail? I heard something that sounded like sleet but can't be sleet at these temps
  8. I used to live on the 14th floor of an apartment building in Brooklyn on Ocean Parkway ....I saw amazing sunrises from the balcony
  9. why not do some Christmas surfing? I dont think Christmas and surfing have ever been used in the same sentence before (for our area at any rate lol)
  10. awesome I'm getting my wind fix here and my snow fix by having YES on and they're showing the April 9 1996 Yankee home opener.
  11. Yeah but wasn't that all from one storm? We had the same thing in Jan 2011 but I believe both Dec 2003 and Jan 2011 were from one storm with a lull in between A 12 or 24 hr gap sounds like two different storms. That's why I brought up Feb 1994 that was two different storms.
  12. sounds like we had some pretty interesting storms back then, two significant storms 12 hours apart aren't something I've experienced before (the closest was in Feb 1994 when they were about a day apart.)
  13. thats good....I dont like big weather events in the week between Xmas and New Years!
  14. lol I remember a timelapse taken of the Boxing Day Blizzard on a picnic table in Monmouth County were they had 30" Amazing! I didn't see any of our 30" snowstorm though....
  15. damn the night before Christmas? I bet that was our one and only 10"+ Xmas eve into Xmas day snowfall!
  16. Isn't there some way for them to fix this? Like using other radars to compensate and shutting the bad one down?
