pipeline company lied ( no surprise there)......coast guard spotted a central park sized oil spill Friday eve at 6 PM company did not shut down pipeline until Sat morn at 9 AM, big lawsuit oncoming and the spill is now spread out over 16 sq miles and 150,000 gallons. This will take months to clean up and pipeline company should have to pay for everything and all its operations should be shut down.

I'm glad we're finally starting on geo-engineering projects I just saw a the first of a new type of device that take humidity out of the air and convert it to water to be used for drinking, etc. The humidity needs to be at least 30% and you can squeeze out hundreds to thousands of gallons of water a day depending on which model you buy.

indeed, and upper 50s isnt low. The only reason it was cool was because there was no sun and temps were in the 60s during the day, that ends going forward

lol there's a vast difference between heat and cold weather. we were somewhere in between. there was one somewhat cool day, it's back to feeling warm today (I had my ceiling fans on- a/c will probably be on tomorrow)

I dont believe in this minimum fake heat. I dont mind it being used in the "off seasons" but minimums should definitely NOT be used for describing hot summers. The definition of a hot day is and should be, a day with a high reaching 90 or higher. All a high min does is simply describe the amount of water vapor in the air not really heat. A high min means more water vapor, not actual heat. I, as a matter of fact, strongly recommend that when we calculate summer heat we ONLY use the high temperature to calculate averages, that would alleviate a lot of problems that come from water vapor taint. I was shivering today, this was in no way shape or form a warm day!

I see no more below normal snowfall and below normal temp combos.....

But something I find interesting is that it's pretty rare to have near normal snowfall. It's usually way above or way below..... even slightly above normal snowfall is rare (like the 30-39 inch range).....if it's going to be above normal snowfall it's usually 40 + inches.

Yup but even with that blocking we had a lot of mixing and changeovers here it was more of an inland winter, I would say it was a B winter, not in one of the higher categories. There have been La Nina winters in those higher categories (1995-96 and 2010-11 are prime examples) but those not only have exceptional blocking, they are also La Ninas that come after El Ninos and retain some of the aftereffects of the previous winter's El Nino, and give us the best of both worlds (cold and snow.)

The La Nina and PDO have finally bound together. I actually thought this year would be a neutral cold winter, so either way I wasn't expecting much snow since neutrals after La Nina tend to be among our least snowiest.
