  1. What's causing the warmest departures to always go to our North? Is it because of the sea breeze and further north position of the ridge?
  2. I look forward to the year 19234 lol. Is there any way to guesstimate what the temperatures might have been here in 1934? I know there were some Long Island weather stations active around then....anyone in SW Nassau?
  3. Why dont we get airmasses that move down the Hudson Valley anymore? They always seem to go west of us and then south. Time to build a wall and divert that air here.
  4. What time did you take this-- the angle of sunlight is just about perfect.
  5. Tony, got an early call for November?
  6. Funny how S NJ got there before we did. Those are the S NJ Pine Barrens correct? Their temps are similar to the Suffolk County Pine Barrens so the growing season there should have ended too.
  7. I wonder how cold it's on those roofs. It has to get to 37 or lower for frost.
  8. and also in light and air pollution. I'm in the orange lol.
  9. Yes it's been years since I've been that far north. I have to make sure my passport is up to date.
  10. Forky, can I get a link for this-- I want to check out what it is for my other home in the Poconos and transpose it atop a light pollution map. Obviously the higher the population density the higher the levels of light and air pollution. I need to find an air pollution map of the country too.
  11. You like early season freezes for some odd reason. The growing season doesn't mean much to you?
  12. It's already been in the 20s in my other house in the Poconos. It feels like December over there lol.
  13. Thats the good part about being on the south shore- extended growing seasons. We've only had October freezes a couple of times in the entire time I've been here.
  14. They should have played through the rain, that was not enough rain to cancel a baseball game lol
  15. 6.10" inches of rain here?!-- you know thats WRONG I would apply the 1/6 rule lol
  16. It depends on the tree. Some of mine switched in September and started dropping leaves back then.
  17. Iceland is gorgeous and the Northern Lights there are absolutely amazing. Absolutely worth it to have a long night there.
  18. That sounds like what we had on October 2, 2018.....didn't JFK hit 95 or 96? We beat our previous record high by a wide margin.
  19. Looks like November will be warm too, that's what the CPC is going with correct? Long range forecast is for eastern warmth for the next few months. Warmer the further east you go.
  20. Saw something amazing an hour ago. It was raining and the sun came out, very bright, at the same time it was raining!
  21. and they're actually both winning!!!! when was the last time both teams made it into the playoffs?
  22. Interesting that three of those records are from 2002! And Seattle beat their previous record by 16 degrees?! Is there a record for how many degrees a previous record is beaten by lol?
  23. We should just find a way to change that annoying tilt of the earth's axis and make it straight up down. Hey if we can move an asteroid out of the way who knows what else we can do. #dreams of a perfectionist
  24. At this point would you say that November looks like it will be above normal?
