What's causing the warmest departures to always go to our North? Is it because of the sea breeze and further north position of the ridge?

I look forward to the year 19234 lol. Is there any way to guesstimate what the temperatures might have been here in 1934? I know there were some Long Island weather stations active around then....anyone in SW Nassau?

Why dont we get airmasses that move down the Hudson Valley anymore? They always seem to go west of us and then south. Time to build a wall and divert that air here.

Funny how S NJ got there before we did. Those are the S NJ Pine Barrens correct? Their temps are similar to the Suffolk County Pine Barrens so the growing season there should have ended too.

Forky, can I get a link for this-- I want to check out what it is for my other home in the Poconos and transpose it atop a light pollution map. Obviously the higher the population density the higher the levels of light and air pollution. I need to find an air pollution map of the country too.

Thats the good part about being on the south shore- extended growing seasons. We've only had October freezes a couple of times in the entire time I've been here.

That sounds like what we had on October 2, 2018.....didn't JFK hit 95 or 96? We beat our previous record high by a wide margin.

Looks like November will be warm too, that's what the CPC is going with correct? Long range forecast is for eastern warmth for the next few months. Warmer the further east you go.

We should just find a way to change that annoying tilt of the earth's axis and make it straight up down. Hey if we can move an asteroid out of the way who knows what else we can do. #dreams of a perfectionist
