Now that really reminds me of Nov 1989, the big front door to our high school had swung open and it was so windy you couldn't shut it and the whole school was shaking as if an earthquake was happening.

The only thing I'm upset about is this is happening at night. It would be much more spectacular looking for funnel clouds at 1 in the afternoon which is what we were doing in November 1989 and again on Labor Day 1998

1989 and 1998 had that in common. Labor Day 1998 produced an F2 about 2 miles from here in Lynbrook.

November 1989 was my very first experience with tornado watches and what looked like funnel clouds in the area. The winds were unbelievable in that event.
