  1. maybe some higher gusts mix down w/ the convective cells starting to come ashore?
  2. we pray for big ice .. its been awhile
  3. ya thats a good point .. not sure how the background state / tropics compares exactly. Hopefully doesn't lead to suppression city like Jan 04 - although we had some close calls
  4. https://twitter.com/antmasiello/status/1074682629990088704
  5. 19z HRRR looks fun, really goes to town between 4z to 8z and tucks the low pretty much over ACK .. probably overdone but we can hope
  6. IMO: less dynamic = cold rain / icy mess for some more dynamic = flip to accumulating snow Just gotta get the lift, but gotta like the 12z runs pending EURO
  7. EURO is a step in the right direction
  8. I've been thinking the same for a couple days but its def an unorthodox ice set-up .. not sure how widespread it will be but prob something to watch for the interior.
  9. legit like best care scenario on that run tho .. not saying impossible, but its almost impossible things will have to be timed perfectly to have any chance
  10. If I could go back in time for one winter time event this is prob the one .. the 4.05" of mixed precip QPF recorded at Clark in ORH is nuts. Its like the 08 ice storm + 3" of sleet + 2"-3" of snow over 3+ days
  11. looks like some solid squalls incoming for central Mass .. back in Shrewsbury for this one and radar looks pretty good
  12. pretty cool i guess .. there had been some events over the past summer where you had to pay an admission fee to be able to purchase in MA
  13. this event sucks .. too marginal and disjointed. I get it - we are lucky to be tracking multiple events this early, but its frustrating when its so close to something better.
  14. looping correlation coefficient is pretty entertaining or excruciating depending on perspective
  15. latest HRRR pretty bullish on 2"-4" band from ORH to LWM .. not sure I buy it but gotta watch for some good bands as this exits stage right
  16. just talked to my mom back in shrewsbury - seems like a rain/snow mix with no accum so far
  17. good luck up there! think I'll be lucky to see more than flakes around boston
  18. lets all agree to toss the 18z NAM .. similar run to 12z, maybe marginally better?
  19. I like this look for tuesday .. not too far away from another borderline warning event (4"-8") for some. Props to @jbenedet for being bullish on the potential a couple days ago like others have already said, really need that wave tmrw to push that boundary south. Toggling between GFS/EURO/NAM 12z runs looks like GFS/EURO are really close on where that boundary sets up. Def would be sweating this out along the pike / N CT .. thinking theres gonna be a very sharp gradient between T-1" and 4"+ somewhere close.
  20. call me a weenie but maybe a lil flash freeze potential tmrw am for NE MA? prob too marginal to be a big deal but could see temps dipping below freezing after the low passes
