  1. There's definitely a battle going on. Just finished my cleanup and when I went out, Tolland High (closest WU station on my hill) was approaching 33, now back below 32. It's going to be interesting around here.
  2. Moderate zr here since I've been up for the past hour or so. Everything has a shine to it now and small branches showing that they're holding weight. If we hold on to this it'll definitely be interesting.
  3. Pea sized hail, some of the heaviest rain I've ever seen.
  4. Well after having the spindles on my mower rebuilt, (it used to sound like I was mowing marbles) I decided to sand and paint the machine (OCD). Mows great and the yard is looking pretty good. The clover definitely got knocked down this year between the pre and post emergent fert. I think my routine will be heavy weed and feed in the spring and core aerating and overseeding in the fall. In 3 years my lawn went from sparse old neglected grass that barely grew to this.
  5. When I bought my house in 2014 I saw how my yard had potential but it was also neglected for many years. The previous that lived here since the 60's actually had their daughter go missing (fairly well-known case around here) and from what I hear they weren't super motivated to maintain things outside. Since moving in I've raked the yard out every spring, cut back trees overhanging the yard, lesco, core aerated, and overseeded every year. So things are getting much better. No more crabgrass and the grass is thick enough to give my commercial mower some challenges in spots. This year it's a war on clover and this other weed that has really broad leaves and deep roots, the name escapes me right now. Once I get things where I like them I'll do my spring cleanups with the backpack. Right now raking helps dethatch more aggressively.
  6. Same here, it's up there with the best snow of the day. We just got back from visiting my parents on the Willington Ashford line and they have a few inches more than me. They got a better shot at the death band earlier.
  7. I'm seeing some of the nicest flakes of the day here. We were living on the edge all day.
  8. Starting to snow heavy here now, visibility dropping. I'm right on the ragged edge of the band in Windham county, keep it coming!!
