So with 1.5" today, my weekly total going back to last Friday (8/2) is right around 7.5", talk about a substantial dent to the drier pattern. Definitely looking forward to a drying out period with some sun again. Grass has made a major comeback and is as green as ever this year.

.50" here with a damn near all day light rain, with heavier pockets mixed in. Glad we avoided the trouble of big totals, especially after Tuesday. Very surprised at how the lawn turned around. Haven't watered once this year and I had some pretty burned out areas. Looks like a golf course now lol.

Just under 2.5" here. When you add up what we got Fri-Sun, 5 inches isn't that far off. Hoping for a drier solution for the rest of the week.

Seems to be happening in NW Jersey currently. Hopefully it holds steady.
-
I believe it. I was in Wildwood Crest for a few days and you literally had to cross a mini ocean on the beach to actually get to the water.
-
Big uptick in Katydid's tonight, a bit early still. One of my favorite sounds alongside the crickets when sitting outside on warm summer nights. Today was a transition day, tomorrow looks like the lowest dews before they increase a bit for the weekend.

About 0.8" here, can't complain. Very little wind, which is good, and some decent boomers. Definitely a nice stretch coming up.
-
Pretty insane parts of the city are still at or above 90 at this hour. Dogs days are here for sure.
-
About 0.40" here. I'll gladly take it to liven things up, but nowhere near what could've been.

Talk about a horribly modeled wet weather week, at least for my area. Every day busted terribly and today was an extreme disappointment with literally nothing to show.

I know, I was saying it more tongue in cheek, because it just shows the irony of how people who root for one thing get upset when others root for the opposite.

Yeah it definitely is. Usually they come out after my birthday in early August, and then you start hearing them more alongside the crickets too. -

Yeah it's been mighty quiet in the cicada department. Heard my first one last week. Definitely a solid reminder it's summer. -
So then everyone who roots for cold and snow should be without heat I guess?
-
So it's the hottest summer on record, even though it's only July 8th? Get back to me in two months. It's a hot start to summer, but let the rest play out.
-
This is sarcastic right??
-
Still 81 out there. Did a bunch of outdoor stuff and cut the grass, the air is so heavy. Sweating is an understatement lol. Nonetheless, this is truly summer.

Wow wicked storm that woke us up. Mega downpours, wind, thunder and lightning.
-
Definitely some very strong gusts and torrential downpours now.
-
We'll have to see what pops up later, but I'm about to get into that line entering Morris county now. Winds kicking up and thunder cracks too.
-
Same here, the power kept dipping in and out, pretty decent gusts for sure. Torrential downpours as well.
-
Yeah, it's not like mid-90's are anything significant, that's only what, +15 degrees AN this time of year?
-
That cell that came through around 11:10pm really put down the rain. Easily pushed over an inch with that, heaviest downpours of the day. Lots of lightning too.

Yeah looks like May will transition into June with some cool nights and low dews. Imagine that, a dry weekend wall to wall, it only took 3 months.
-
Two things: 1. We don't want to hear it every day. 2. We don't want to hear it when it's above 70 degrees. If we were in a legit heatwave with high dews I could understand. 87 here.
