Have had several periods of that soaking type rain that feels tropical in nature throughout the day. Up to 1.5" now. Far below some other areas, but you can already see the life coming back to the vegetation and grass. This type of event is better for doing that than those brief torrential downpours from a cell.

If we avoid storms today, especially with the forecasted deluge in a couple days, it's really not going to be a big deal.
-
That's chilly, even when it's hot like this. Pool is 84 and basically feels lukewarm.
-
They must not be sized right maybe? We have a small house, but upstairs is 105 right now because it's not air conditioned. Downstairs however stays around 76 with just one unit running. Heat rises so it shouldn't matter as much.
-
Yep, kind of sucks with the timing. Already have over 3 inches this week, so was hoping today would be dry. Radar looks robust.
-
Got drenched here last night, about 1.5" or so. Definitely filled the pool up and won't need to add water. I'm okay if tomorrow misses up here.
-
Got hit pretty good last night with soaking rain. I had about .50" yesterday, and just over an inch since midnight. I'm happy with that.
-
Count those seconds!
-
Monday and Tuesday look to be a sharp contrast from this week's heat and humidity with low dews and 50's at night. Then Wed-Friday maybe some rain chances as the humidity picks back up?
-
Right, which was my exact point, it was sarcasm..
-
And as if the days getting shorter means it's going to get cooler or something.
-
1 inch since midnight. Approaching 2 inch storm total.
-
Brutal today. Nothing like a 50 degree swing in a few days. I hope JJA turns around and we get some consistent heat.
-
Not sure what losing sunlight has to do with anything, when our warmest days aren't until after the solstice. Make that same post on 12/21 about gaining sunlight then lol.
-
Thankfully peak heating doesn't kick in until well after the solstice
-
Yeah I can't necessarily remember a consistent pattern like this where it goes from so warm to so cool each month of Spring. In April you had 90's then 20's. This week my forecast high on Tuesday is 98, then next Saturday it's 60..
-
Right but relative to the normal temps it was more extreme. Naturally, dewpoints are going to increase as we approach June.
-
To me the heat we had back in April was more impressive considering that was a month ago. Coming up to the last 2 weeks of May, we typically see bursts of heat like this. By Thursday it looks to cool down, so it's really just 3-4 days of heat.
-
Yeah should be good for awhile. Early June and late August can be sneaky but I think we're entering summer mode. You'll start to see dews increasing as well which will keep it warmer at night too.
-
You can see how the deficit got erased in NW Jersey since end of Feb. Been pretty good here.

Just hit an inch here. This was a solid soaker. Wednesday into Thursday can be decent as well. Everything really greening up now. The crazy thing is that Friday is 5/1, and I don't have a single high temp above 60 after that. I hope it changes as we close in.

That's okay, because it's only a few seconds each day, and the sunset remains at 8:30 until like mid July

Mid 80's still in NYC at this hour, in mid-april, is nuts. Hoping those storms in PA make it here. Had a nice downpour last night.

Why would you need the windows open at 36 lol, do you need the room to be 50 degrees?
