  1. Back into low clouds and even some drizzle. Plenty of time!
  2. Same down to your southwest around Rocksprings. We are ready to make a run NNE if necessary.
  3. Man, I’m sitting at a brewery eating Texas brisket and Mac and cheese. I’m good!
  4. Dude. That’s going to be so cool with snow cover. I love Jackson. Meanwhile, here in Rockspring, TX, high thin clouds and 80.
  5. For those that have clear skies tomorrow, be sure to look for the comet during totality.
  6. I’m driving right now and using voice to write this, but does the 12z gfs look markedly better for Texas? edit: stopped for a beer and bite outside of San Antonio and gfs isn’t “markedly” better, but 3k nam looks like the front is further east. Hoping for clear skies for all.
  7. At the airport and grabbing a beer before the flight. Unfortunately there aren’t any Canadian beers on draft. I can’t bring myself to do the Modelo.
  8. Today reminds me of Orioles Opening Day 2003. Except then it snowed.
  9. Just a few blocks from my house and directly on one of my popular running, er, limping routes.
  10. Over 3" for the event and over 8" since March 1.
  11. I’m acting concerned for Texas, but I’m on the @WEATHER53 model bust bus. It’ll be fine!
  12. I’m bringing my passport to hightail it to Mexico if it looks better there.
  13. This is O-mazing!!! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TNyCKtEwFiQ
  14. One of the drivers was sentenced. https://www.thebaltimorebanner.com/community/criminal-justice/melachi-duane-darnell-brown-sentencing-deadly-crash-construction-workers-interstate-695-K2F2RY4ZNRCRZJIV2KT3NK6FPY/
  15. The nams are much better this morning than last night. Might be able to eek this game in!
  16. Not to mention that dropping an anchor won’t immediately stop a canoe, not to mention a high rise on its side. I don’t know much about marine piloting, but I know that there’s a pretty complicated formula for anchor drop and how much line is needed to secure a stationary ship. Factor in that this ship was incredibly large, moving at about 7 knots, tides, wind, current, and proximity to the truss makes me wonder if dropping anchors would have done (or did) much. I do, however, wonder if tugs on either side could have made a difference. But hindsight is 20/20.
  17. A port worker reporting that the Dali was having serious intermittent power outages for a couple days leading up to the departure. The article covers the worker’s statements, and the video has her statements beginning around 3:57. https://www.itv.com/news/2024-03-26/major-bridge-in-baltimore-collapses-following-collision-with-cargo-ship @CAPE This accident must be consuming for you.
  18. Some of us are going to need some details on the weather to expect come eclipse time. Looking forward to being out your way.
