Just a side note but as im working on this season to date snowfall map southeastern Essex county has the least amount of snow anywhere in Southern New England, thats including the cape and islands. That is insane for late Jan. Massive snow hole there, Rays in NWrn Essex so that area is fine around 15-17" but around Rockport to Beverly to Marblehead they are sub 10".

I really like the H5 vorticity color schema on weathermodels over weatherbell, its much easier on the eyes. Is there any benefits or extra stuff you like on weathermodels vs weatherbell?

About 0.8-1.0 liquid across SNE which is a pretty big jump from 12Z. Very solid.

Thanks guys. I figured my assumption was right. I was more confused why this is being kept as official data, it must happen often during high wind events and then climo data for the month/year gets skewed low. Is what it is i guess, i'm sure this must have come up before just surprised they don't adjust it after.

Yeah, i can see why comparisons are being made to PDII..another 1008mb low off the delmarva that produced 1-2 feet Not often you see these type of setups Edit: Not saying or implying this is whats coming just noting the overall theme of such a system

Thank you for posting this, because i felt like i was being gaslit by the UKMET. I saw it come out fully for 12Z then i went back to check and only 6z was there. Now like 10 minutes later its coming out again? What the hell is happening, am i going crazy?

Hey sorry to bother you guys @dendrite @ORH_wxman I am working on some past stuff and i am just dying to know what's going on with this... The total pcp for this event at climo sites is ridiculously low and doesn't match snowfall totals. I'm not sure if this was talked about but im curious to know why this is the case. The ratios for all the climo sites are on the order of 30-50:1. Is this because ASOS is measuring the precipitation directly and the high wind is throwing it off? This is the ony thing that makes sense to me. I looked at many cocorahs/COOP reports which are taken from samples and they are more reasonable around 15-20:1 in the heavier banding. If thats the case why do they use ASOS precipitation instead of taking a core sample? I mean these are important official climo sites, if precip is so off like this, isn't that affecting climo with under reporting precipitation for the month/year? Not sure if this has been discussed before but i never noticed it this bad with a single storm. I imagine most blizzards and high wind storms are like this. 2015 is a bit more reasonable like 15-25:1. Here's the numbers so you dont have to go looking BOS 23.6" .45 52:1 PVD 18.8" .38 49:1 BDL 6.8" .21 32:1 ORH 14.7" .50 29:1

All these maps for the 25-26 season are available at the website if and when they eventually get removed from here. https://www.jdjweatherconsulting.com/winter-25-26 The final call we put out was for 2-4/4-6 for most of the state and it turned out it wasn't as bad as i thought. The 4-6" line should have been around the river and east and it would have been fine. General idea was correct and the text info with locally 6+ was good. C- Lower Northeast Southern New England Connecticut

2 separate storms. There was about an 15-18 hour gap between the two and the pns reports are not combining them and either are all the reports coming in for the NWS interactive map, just way easier and makes more sense to treat them as two distinct events. Plus its way easier for me to gather data that way from cocorahs and COOP. It's all good im going through the pages to get the amounts from here. Thank you
