  1. you'll be approaching 6 most likely, enjoy it in this mediocre (at best) winter.
  2. Yes, for you're area i'd go with 7-11 central CT 6-10 and W CT 5-9
  3. I was very surprised HVN reported +SN right from the jump. When it started we quickly became moderate, and there were a lot of moderate reports at the time but never less 1/4" mi vis id say. Quick question, why did BDR only report SN and not +SN at the start. They were at 0.25 mi vis. I thought intensity was determined by reduced visibility from falling snow, regardless of the per hour rate. We talked about this recently when you can get 1"/hr and still be reporting -SN because of the ratios.
  4. maybe you're right but im strictly speaking CT only. Last update forecast map is on track. Most fall in the 4-5 range i believe some 6 or 7" amounts are possible well inland.
  5. The bulk of the precip is and was slated to be in the 6-10PM timeframe. We are well ahead of what most models had for totals around 5pm.
  6. It will fill in and ramp up after 6pm. I was just checking models and most have the bulk falling between 6-10PM for us. We are at about an inch and by this time more were only supporting 1/4-1/2" by this time, so we're ahead of the curve. 4-6" is most likely for interior southern CT.
  7. Latest OKX maps. I can agree with the inland numbers around 5-6". But HVN gets more than 2 thats for sure. They are already close that.
  8. i dont know what BOX and OKX are doing but it looks fine. They updated the adv in southern CT for an additional 1-3 lol. It hasnt even really started yet.
  9. How much in the city? 1"? We are about that here, i think you guys are good for at least 3"
  10. Cranky really blew it on the last storm. he was posting like 70 tweets a day for that thing that gave most of sne a dusting and 1-3 extreme se ma.
  11. Plenty of time left, back edge just making it through western PA right now.
  12. 0.6" otg. the roads are a disaster, lots of accidents everything snow covered. Doesn't take but a 1/4" on the roads to become very slick. Still looking at a good 3-6 across most of the state. 18Z NAM backed off a bit.
  13. Should pin this, lots of obs rolling through soon. Mostly cloudy right now, shouldnt be long..
  14. No one should, it's truly awful. Sorry NWS but it is. I use them exclusively for weather information (obviously besides models when im not making my own forecast). I read the AFDs, all the products and Zone ZFPS but never, never P&C. Zones are what everyone should use, i tell that to the general public...click on "Zone Area Forecast for X County".
  15. Never use P&C. It's weird. To the left of Enfield it says 3-5, to the right, to the south and to the north. Makes zero sense why that little dot would be 2-4. Just use the Zone Forecasts if you are going to use NWS forecasts. They are at least generated by a human. Or just the WSW (winter weather) products
  16. ? The WWA just updated at 10:30 still says 3-6". The latest map is still 4-6" Nothing was cut back.
  17. Whitefield regional is at -15F and MWN is at 1 Clayton Lake -18F, damn
  18. Look at that beast. Hard to believe a Low headed into the Great Lakes is possibly going to give NYC isn't biggest snowfall of the year and Southern CT a 3-6"er
  19. Final Call before starts for verification. Bumped up everything 1". Decided to go with a narrow 2-3 range for the SE corner instead of the typical 1-3 due to the fact i think 2" is the basement even for GON. Most of the state falls in 3-5 range i believe with some inland areas of new haven, fairfield and litchfield county approaching 6". Some amounts near 7" are not out the question and was indicated in the most favorable area, western interior CT in the hilly terrain. Hopefully this was a good move and i don't regret nudging up the numbers a hair.
  20. This...this, is pure gold. Sig worthy.
  21. We haven’t got one decent event from Seymour to north haven. I don’t care if I jack, def don’t have that fetish I’m just hoping for a solid 4” anything more would be gravy town
  22. I’m likely going to bump up 1 or stand I’ll have to look close when I’m out of work and off the phone. Looks reasonable.
