  1. Video from a late effect band that dropped 28" in 4 hours. This is an average rate of 7"/hr which means it's very likely that at times the rates we above that number in the 8-9"/hr range and below that 7 too. I realize this is pure fluff probably 20-30:1 but in the video it really never looks more than 2-4"/hr rates, visibility looks to probably drop to 1/8th mile. I would think at 7"/hr or more that vis would be reduced to near zero or just a couple hundred feet. What do you guys think? I believe him, it's just the video isn't really reflecting those kind of rates (to me)
  2. i'll be sure to update everyone on the rain totals
  3. Last 16+ in far SW CT is really 2016. This is my #1 over the past 5 years. Perfect storm in all aspects. Only thing better would be to take those numbers and X2 em.
  4. That was Dec 15....60s xmas eve and day Dec 14 was also horribly warm
  5. i haven't looked at canada for this, but i know its winding up and dumping snow there. However, given the speed of this thing i can't see it being more than 6-12er for you. Highly doubt you come anywhere near 24"
  6. congrats on the 2-3. If i end up doing a map for this one itll likey be C-1 across the state and given the models last 24 hrs leading up to this event, that's a win. If you have totals pm or tag me for this one.
  7. 0.5" last night puts me at 7.0" for the season. yay. garbage winter.
  8. It's a shame it wasn't a little closer like most said could have been a plowable 3-6 but ill take the 0.5 as a W.
  9. As i said starting as rain and then wasted white rain on the cape/islands. @USCAPEWEATHERAF didn't want to hear it though, can't say i told you so but...i told you so. 0.5" total 1WNW North Haven, CT A good chunck of the state looks like C-1, nothing more really
  10. it's weird how words don't control or influence the weather.
  11. We don't have any posters from Marthas Vineyard or Nantucket do we? I've never seen anyone pop their head out from there but maybe some lurkers?
  12. Well that was painful again. Hopefully the cap and the islands can pick up a quick 2-4" they diserve it this winter.
  13. We need some help 6z and 12z but this is not looking good for more than a coating to inch for most of CT. 2-4 still in the cards but its gonna take a solid bump NW the next couple runs.
  14. GEM is a tick NW but still not going to do it for most. Par for the 00z suite.
  15. And i was referring to ACK, clown GFS maps have costal elbow in the 2-3 range. And btw NWS has the official fx for ACK Rain then Snow.
  16. Oh i def think it will be mostly snow but i still think some will be wasted with rain, then melting snow in the mid to low 30s. Those clown maps are too high imo.
  17. no way ACK is getting 6-12 or james 4-6 even verbatim on the GFS, BL too warm with rain and white rain. But yeah clown maps have 6-10 over ACK.
