  1. "Snowfall" totals from the "squall" epic
  2. After all the potential, all the threats, H5 looking about as good as it could be...i don't even have a tenth to show for it. Complete shut out, once again.
  3. Something is definitely up because that wasn't like that just a few months ago. It must have just changed. Because i know for a fact i used the NWS site to create this graphic and 04-05 to 09-10 was there. The only ones i had trouble with i remember were the early 2000s from around 00-01 to 03-04. Also it looks like 10-11 and 11-12 changed. I had 86.4" and 26.7" now it showing it as 74.9" and 14.4". Everything from 12-13 to present looks the same. Very weird. I just made this graphic on 12/07/22 and i'm positive all the data was there except late 90s to early 00s. I probably saved the screen shot but i can't find it right now.
  4. Side-by-side comparison from 19-20 and 22-23. Strikingly similar but somehow we even managed to be a tick lower than that rat of a season.
  5. Lord knows what i'd do for those numbers
  6. Since Buffalo is in their top 5 highest snowfall ever this season, it seems they chose to include their highest snowfall instead of lowest snowfall. Their rank for Buffalo also reflects the highest and instead of lowest. It's the only one on the list like that, see the footnote on the bottom left. It doesn't make sense to have Buffalo ranked the same way as the rest since it's one of their snowiest winters ever. But the rank for the "least snowiest" would be #136 and 1918-1919 25.0" for the record. There is a typo on there though somewhere else
  7. i def appreciate it and never take offense to it, truly, so thank you
  8. hard not to make a single error with these and catch it. especially in photoshop where there is no spell check. Check out the NWS regional snowfall graphic they made. Can you spot the error in this one? There may be more than one, but i see at least one. It's fun, like word search lol
  9. Made a graphic for regional snowfall records that may fall. Snowfall as of 3/21/23. Washington is IAD.
  10. Redrew the map for this event with the NESIS snowfall ranges and color scheme for SNE. No real reason, just for fun.
  11. like personally IYBY or going off of LGA or JFK? Personally im #2 just barely ahead of 01-02 and slightly behind 19-20. Crazy if NYC breaks their all-time least snowfall for a season record considering their records go back more than 150 years! 1869 to be exact.
  12. We're number 1 baby lets go Bridgeport! Not only the least snowy of all time but barely above 50% of their least snowiest record! sick.
  13. Steady light snow in North Haven. Someone make it stop
  14. Has anyone seen this tweet from NWS San Diego? My first thought was how the hell did the NWS tweet something like this, then quickly realized they probably just forgot to log out of their work account. It's also possible it's fake, you never know these days but i have a feeling it's the former. Something like this has got to be an insta-fire for that employee. Wonder what @OceanStWx thinks of this?
  15. Yeah as bad as it can possibly get around here, seems to be about on par for 01-02 and 19-20. But this blows away 06-07, 11-12, 15-16 at least for southern CT. 15-16 was probably one of the worst ever for the NW hills. Actually, just going back that map is eerily close to 19-20 (assuming we don't get another big storm of course)
  16. Updated map and fixed sp error and duplicate in list.
  17. ill add that and fix lower weschester, i didn't have any reports from there so just based the contour on the surrounding reports from rockland and fairfield counties but i can move it up a bit.
  18. Forecast verification. Could have been better the gradient was much tighter, nearly a razors edge and elevation oriented. NW CT was slightly too low and NE CT a bit too high. All things considered i don't think it was too bad. From what i saw we were one of the lowest out there, especially for southern half of CT. We issued a short-fused update after the storm was underway and snow already falling in NW CT which was much better with the gradient but i'm only using the final call for verification. Grade: C+ Updated map at 2am Tuesday:
  19. Snowfall totals for the entire tri-state region, Connecticut and southern New England! This was a beast to put together and probably the most difficult maps i've ever had to do and took nearly 12 hours. We had such and extremely tight gradient and elevation component which is always hard to represent on a 2D map. Will be putting together a season-to-date map to update for the last two events. If you have an updated number for the season, let me know. I'll check the New England Snow page but some of you aren't on there @tavwtby@TalcottWx@Connecticut Appleman@JKEisMan@FXWX and anyone else from Litchfield/New London counties
  20. Thanks i have a full comprehensive list for all of SNE, NY, NJ with a new CT/MA/RI map coming later today so ill take all the reports i can get.
