  1. Exactly - by late summer we're banking on tropical systems, which might be an issue this year.
  2. we are nearing full leaf-out in NW DC in the 2nd week of April wtf
  3. oh i'm not complaining - but the drought outlook is a bit worrying.
  4. yeah the outlook ain't great
  5. Dulles is definitely starting to develop some sort of UHI as that area continues to grow. The freeze warning was def a bit excessive for the more urban locations in and around DC - DCA only got down to 41 which was also my low in Tenleytown.
  6. You hear the same thing in the NY area, with people way out in the burbs complaining that KNYC is too warm - it's the station for New York City, not your town.
  7. I am about 5-6 miles away from DCA and my low was 37 (so 3F cooler than DCA - which is about right). DCA is meant to represent the urban area of DC + Arlington/Alexandria.
  8. Getting a T in April to cap off one of the most pathetic winters in recorded history for DC would just be perfect. A day after we were pushing 90F...
  9. possible explanation from CWG:
  10. DCA reported IP at 11:25am with a temp of 53F. lol
  11. lol - NYC finally got into the fun (upper 70s) but Boston is stuck in the low-mid 40s. No thanks.
  12. 79/61 here - low of 66.7F - elevation helps little lol. We are close enough to more built up areas around Wisconsin Ave that the heat island persists here pretty strongly.
  13. Some of those highest peaks in NC can get snow into like June - this looks like the perfect spring set up for them.
  14. looks like DCA at least tied its record
  15. Must've called the measuring teams from Central Park or DCA.
  16. Low of 42 here - the growing season is in full swing.
  17. 60F at the midnight hour.
  18. just unstoppable. if we keep having drought issues persist into late spring, watch out.
  19. nothing else seems to be working lol
  20. lol i was in Philly that year in grad school and the only part that sucked was that the city didn't plow or shovel shit. I had to walk across the Walnut St bridge to class in 2-3ft of snow multiple times. But the storms were incredible.
  21. It was NYC's biggest snowstorm. I'll take that any day of the week, even if the rest of the winter is shit.
  22. High of 71 today at DCA. Man - doesn't get much better.
  23. and now you're much closer to the train with the silver line! Mid 60s here - just gorgeous.
  24. If anyone is thinking about going down to the Mall / Tidal Basin - do. not. drive. Metro is crowded but you'll get there.
