  1. yeah now all we need now is a few 80F lows and we are all set
  2. lol no doubter today - 90 at 1pm
  3. for the immediate DC metro, this is the new normal for us from late June-Aug: highs in the low to occasionally mid 90s lows in the low/mid 70s it's basically a similar climate to the NC piedmont, but we are more humid due to our proximity to water.
  4. so far we are running one degree warmer than yesterday at DCA
  5. lol 91.4 now - anti-climatic
  6. 55 now! Turning into a California day.
  7. i would imagine we've hit it now.
  8. yeah they should keep it as a double/float anyways, we just had back to back 32C (89.6F) - could be getting there.
  9. why can't they just report the initial F temperature reading? Seems odd to convert it to a less precise scale (as an integer) and then convert it back to the now less exact F reading
  10. my understanding is it is an ob recorded in F, then converted to C, then converted back to F for display. So 89.6 -> 32C, could be 89 or 90 I guess?
  11. yeah if we can maintain clear skies till 5-6pm, we might be able to do it.
  12. it's the damn (light) wind
  13. yeah this is what is having me worried - if we don't get the slight break this weekend from the coastal low, we're talking weeks of 90s+
  14. looking at the Euro, basically looks like wall-to-wall 90s. We could be getting close to record territory if this goes into next week.
  15. yeah, the dewpt here briefly hit 78 but the wind must've switched as it's now back in the mid 70s. Still oppressive as the temp is in the mid 90s.
  16. it's not just the 90s during the day, we've been mid-upper 70s for lows for a while now. Last night only got down to 78. I'm sure if this continues we'll get some 80+ lows, as they are routine every summer now.
  17. 42F in downtown DC - wtf
  18. the corresponding ward in DC that is on that border (ward 4) has the most cases in DC. Which is odd because in DC that is one of the less dense wards. Wards 1 and 2, which are downtown and just north of there (Columbia Heights etc) actually don't have as many cases relative to the entire city.
  19. mid 50s at 11pm in mid Feb - cool cool cool, totally cool
  20. I saw mentions of March 2001 storm in this thread - it was my understanding that bringing up that cursed storm was a bannable offense?
  21. the unvarnished realism in this subforum is such a pleasant change from the NYC forum
