it's nice that the Metro stations all have A/C so you don't come close to death waiting on the platform, but man tonight you feel it stepping out onto the street. In NY even on the hottest nights there was a slight relief walking out of a subway station because the station temps would be well over 100F.

DC at 87F at 10pm looks to be the hottest temp on the east coast right now (I'm not counting Key West (88F) because they are surrounded by hot tub water rn)

within the past decade or so sure. Lows around 80F used to be quite rare.

although Key West, with the obscene 90F+ water temps surrounding it, recorded an overnight low of just 87F. Man...

megalopolis starting to flex the overnight lows: 73F at DCA 76F at NYC 79F at LGA 72F at BOS The ease with which LGA records lows 78-80F these days is disturbing.

Got an 80F dewpoint right before the brief shower, and afterwards I was at 83/81 for a bit. You could definitely cut the air with a knife.

mid 70s dews now - welcome to July in DC.

i picked up my kids from their daycare in West End (downtown DC) and they had clearly gotten a torrential downpour! That's like 4 miles away!

literally the storms hit Western Ave and split or disappear or go some other direction. It's like we live on the one big hill in DC and they are like, "nope".

Ward 3 in DC is becoming our own little desert. We got a brief shower today and that was it.

i agree - maybe it's the increased humidity. it was really dry a few weeks ago.

unreal - storms seem to hit Western Ave or the Potomac and just die.

the dewpoint actually dipped into the upper 30s during the late afternoon at DCA. Very strange.
