  1. it's the damn (light) wind
  2. yeah this is what is having me worried - if we don't get the slight break this weekend from the coastal low, we're talking weeks of 90s+
  3. looking at the Euro, basically looks like wall-to-wall 90s. We could be getting close to record territory if this goes into next week.
  4. yeah, the dewpt here briefly hit 78 but the wind must've switched as it's now back in the mid 70s. Still oppressive as the temp is in the mid 90s.
  5. it's not just the 90s during the day, we've been mid-upper 70s for lows for a while now. Last night only got down to 78. I'm sure if this continues we'll get some 80+ lows, as they are routine every summer now.
  6. 42F in downtown DC - wtf
  7. the corresponding ward in DC that is on that border (ward 4) has the most cases in DC. Which is odd because in DC that is one of the less dense wards. Wards 1 and 2, which are downtown and just north of there (Columbia Heights etc) actually don't have as many cases relative to the entire city.
  8. mid 50s at 11pm in mid Feb - cool cool cool, totally cool
  9. I saw mentions of March 2001 storm in this thread - it was my understanding that bringing up that cursed storm was a bannable offense?
  10. the unvarnished realism in this subforum is such a pleasant change from the NYC forum
  11. we've switched over to snow in downtown DC!
  12. I'm guessing this isn't going to be great for the remaining ice in this area:
  13. Just flurries now - what a storm, basically snow from around 3:30pm Sat till 1:30am Mon.
  14. very heavy snow rn in foggy bottom, viz is around 1 - 1.5 blocks
  15. sometimes you just have to take drastic action
  16. lightened up jusssst a tad here. Rosslyn is faintly visible.
  17. was thinking the SAME thing - i mean it was snowing 1000 miles west of here up until a few hours ago
  18. this is my first real snowstorm back with the DC crew in a LONG time - i am pumped.
  19. my mark now is the crane on 30th and M St NW in Georgetown, which is 5 blocks away - it is no longer visible.
