  1. It would be nice for my kids to actually see snow. It's not like we live in FL.
  2. I'm not an O's fan, but I feel like, in the spirit of regional, DMV solidarity, we all need to work together to get Angelos to sell the team.
  3. Some other teams' booths have gone off about this - Gary Cohen (play-by-play for the Mets) and Michael Kay (play-by-play for the Yanks) have both basically said WTF. I watched the video and was waiting for the typical racist/misogynistic/bigoted thing that gets folks like this canned - and was waiting, and waiting, and waiting. I've never heard of anything remotely like this before.
  4. My mom says really bad hail with that tornado-warned storm in Staunton
  5. Definitely you see them every so often in Western Augusta, but usually after they cross the Alleghenies. Yeah - I'd think it's pretty rare actually in Highland.
  6. That tornado-warned storm coming out of Highland into Augusta - lol, I wonder how many times Highland County has had a tornado warning.
  7. same - now that i own a house, not really thrilled about the prospect of dealing with it. It was different when we were in a big condo building with buried power lines all around us.
  8. Yep - sun is out in NW DC. Here we go.
  9. some locations have broken all time maximum temperature records... IN WINTER.
  10. Not remotely our region, but folks need to know what is going on in southern South America right now. Temps pushing 40C in the middle of winter at mid-latitude locations, some with elevation (1500+m). Hard to contemplate.
  11. The South American heat wave ongoing is one of the most insane weather/climate events I've ever seen. Temps pushing 40C in the middle of winter at the mid latitudes. WTF.
  12. Frost out at Canaan with lows in the low 30s.
  13. 95 at DCA now - I believe this is the warmest temp of the year there?
  14. 94/76 in upper NW for a heat index of 107.
  15. South wind will screw it up - guaranteed.
  16. I think if you took a period of record prior to the year 2000 and looked at Antarctic sea ice anomalies, you'd find they were approximately normally distributed. Of course perhaps now they aren't because there is rapid change going on.
  17. Case in point - today's low at DCA was 75 after a pedestrian high of 86.
