    yep - 31F up here in the "highlands" of NW DC, 34F downtown.

    river obviously having a big effect. Although it's roughly the same temp downtown and around capital hill / navy yard. It's interesting, I'm at 36 near the top of the hill in Tenleytown and close to the more commercial areas, meanwhile closer to Mass Ave / Western Ave it's already below freezing.

    DCA in the low 40s - not happening. 36.5F in Tenley, we'll probably get below freezing here.

    With a high temp of 80F at DCA and temps starting their long fall, I am calling the official death of Summer 2023 as today, Oct 30, 2023. May we transition to many snowy days ahead.

    I fondly recall 96 has having snow cover most of the winter. Probably the last time I remember that. Around the superbowl that year I remember there being like 15" of snow on the ground and it was around 10 below. Deep, deep winter.
