  1. Doug Hill was my dude when I was a kid (even in the Valley we got WUSA9). Now we probably watch the other Doug the most - although still like Topper.
  2. although the second temps here get back above 60F, the mosquitos will be back. guaranteed.
  3. was raking leaves today and no annoying bugs / gnats. amazing.
  4. winter nighttime temps at NYC and LGA are comparable to the Gulf coast.
  5. The heat island around downtown DC is only bested in these parts by Manhattan.
  6. lol Canaan - our own little piece of a Hudson Bay-area climate.
  7. some how they come back every time it warms up around here, even in Jan/Feb.
  8. yep - 31F up here in the "highlands" of NW DC, 34F downtown.
  9. river obviously having a big effect. Although it's roughly the same temp downtown and around capital hill / navy yard. It's interesting, I'm at 36 near the top of the hill in Tenleytown and close to the more commercial areas, meanwhile closer to Mass Ave / Western Ave it's already below freezing.
  10. DCA in the low 40s - not happening. 36.5F in Tenley, we'll probably get below freezing here.
  11. With a high temp of 80F at DCA and temps starting their long fall, I am calling the official death of Summer 2023 as today, Oct 30, 2023. May we transition to many snowy days ahead.
  12. lol 72/64 here in Tenley - just another humid October day
  13. we better get used to it lol. of course this will be the second straight year where actual Halloween is cold (although hopefully not rainy this year).
  14. probably most places except downtown and those along the water.
  15. another year, another late Oct / early Nov with temps well into the 80s.
  16. I fondly recall 96 has having snow cover most of the winter. Probably the last time I remember that. Around the superbowl that year I remember there being like 15" of snow on the ground and it was around 10 below. Deep, deep winter.
  17. only low-mid 40s in the city (43 at DCA).
  18. not really seeing it inside the beltway - we are still in the low 50s.
  19. 73/48 today for the hi/lo in Tenleytown. Not too shabby.
  20. Nice dusting above 5000ft down in the Smoky Mountains
  21. 100% - the layoff can be a killer.
  22. something to be said for teams that were fighting all the way to 162 vs teams that were cruising. Although it seems like Atlanta finally woke up.
  23. my dude - i spent my teenage years in Staunton (in the city). I know it's not completely universal in Augusta Co, but let's be real here.
