    The river was about to breach the low point of the Columbia Turnpike by the MMU airport this morning. I suspect later tonight or early tomorrow it will be closed.

    Our power was restored by 2:30 am, thanks to the road crews! Our snowpack is gone, save a few piles. Now the waiting game to see how bad the major rivers will impact travel in north Jersey. For those along the rivers, of course empathy with having to clean up again.

    Squall line just went through; heaviest rain I’ve heard in some time. Power is out here in SW Morris County.

    32/27 here. Might have an outside chance at a flake or two before the rains come.

    Picked up 1.5” over night on top of the 5” measured before the flip to snizzle. 6.5” total. Fun storm.

    I used to drive out to Thatcher State Park to study/hike the Indian ladder trail when I was up at SUNY/ALS. I miss it up there, but can’t get my wife to agree to head north.

    Nice moderate mood snow here. Looks good while cooking pancakes for the kids.

    Picked up 5” down this way, flipped to a mix at 8:30. Good luck further north. I will say winds are picking up.

    Measured 5” in two locations at 8:15 when outside with the kids before the flip to a mix. Fun little storm. Even got a half-assed snowman standing in the yard.

    Eyeballed 2.5” at 5:15 when outside with my daughter. Snow was a bit too dry for good snowballs. Good snows continue here.

    Snow started at 1:10 here in Chester; small flakes but coming down at a decent clip. And we are off…

    29/22 I’m in camp with @MANDA. The ensembles have been fairly consistent on 4-6” west of MMU.

    You’re by the airport right? I think you’ll be ok for 2-4/3-6; I might do a bit better in Chester with elevation. The ensembles have been rather consistent for our area.

    The second storm is all about the possibility of the first locking in that monster hp the models have flirted with. But, I like the fact that all of the posters in this forum look at reality and prepare accordingly.

    The ensembles haven’t moved much for my area; arguably they have increased chances for significant snows. MMU and points north/west should be in the game.

    That has been my thought as well. Storm 1 will have a significant impact on the potential for storm 2 at least our area. That’s a bear of an hp locked into Quebec; if it actually happens is a different story. Winds will rip, which has me concerned due to all the dead ash standing near power lines.

    Yikes is the main thread a wreck. Glad to be a part of the NW of 287 crew; even though I’m about 10 miles north of 78 as the crow flys. Come on elevation!

    Re: the 10th, I think we need to clear the deck of the 7th, before speaking in definitive outcomes for thereafter Let’s deal with the potential for this first significant storm in 2 years, before washing it away.
