Actually had a nip in the air this morning. Went with a long sleeve short/shorts combo getting the kids off to school…

I know it’s dry, but this has been the nicest September I can remember in some time. I mean gem, after gem.

I’m not overly concerned about +2-3 for mid September to November; great weather to keep the kids outside as often as possible until the inevitable 42 degree rainers…

Estimates are 146 million tons of water was vaporized and ejected into the stratosphere by Hunga Tonga; that has to be enhancing climate drivers in some capacity.

The humidity is gone; windows are wide open. Beautiful day out this way with blue skies filtering between some clouds.

The overdevelopment of many areas is going to exacerbate these types of events, just my humble opinion. The lack of farmlands/woods to absorb most, not all, will have downstream implications (pun intended). Down here in NJ, the amount of townhome/condo complexs being built in traditional farmlands areas is staggering. With the skyrocketing property values, there’s little incentive to hold onto farmlands, hence continued development.

Glad we got some rain, but wagons east on the big totals. Looks like we can salvage the day though, for outdoor projects.

At friends in Boonton Twp today, it rained hard on 2 occasions; drove back to Chester and it looked like it had mist. That’s quite the spread over 15 miles as the crow flys.

Humidity is probably the most uncomfortable it has been in some time. Really wish we can ring some precip out of it.

Partly cloudy in Chester; getting dry out this way. Top 2” inches of topsoil are showing cracks.
-
71/69; too bad we can’t ring out any rain.
-
Heavy rain in Bridgewater. Drove home to Chester and not a drop appears to have fallen.
-
Storm was anticlimactic. Doubt it was a tenth of an inch.
-
91/74; according to the Misses, we lost power at home. Apparently we are also under a severe thunderstorm watch for that cluster rolling up from Frenchtown.
-
60/41 currently. Great night for fireworks out this way.
-
66/49 perfect weather for the Chester Fireman’s fair.

Compared to the last few days, it’s gorgeous outside.
