  1. Just lost power. Cold front approaching, temp down to 40; this is where it’ll get interesting. New windows and insulation in the addition area of the house for the win.
  2. Interestingly I live closer to PA, than NYC as the crow flys. I’m not expecting accumulation, but to see more than a trace would be a win in this early winter season.
  3. With all the talk of the coming warmth, I have 30 degrees with legit light snow at present. Roofs and roads are dusted; all the little kids were excited as could be at pre-k drop off. Seasons in seasons type stuff…
  4. ‘93 was great; ‘96 was the one for me though. I vividly remember Al Roker bumping projected totals each update, all the while my dad saying “don’t worry you’ll have school”. 2 days later he came home driving in a front end loader to clear the end of our dead end street as we were plowed in. I don’t think we had school for 2.5 days.
  5. Toaster baths in the main thread. Personally I’ll take the mild weather for as long as I can to finish up home construction, windows/siding are on back order, without spending too much to heat.
  6. I’m at 26 now but it was definitely chilly when I put the trash out at 7.
  7. Wife sent video of the snow shower hitting at home. Apparently it dusted the yard.
  8. More rain than expected. That puts me close to 3.5-4” this month after starting out rather dry.
  9. We talking fake cold or real cold coming up this week? Btw: 26 out the way, not a cloud in the sky. Look out below…
  10. 25 here. Dry as well as internal humidity is below 35. Had to turn out humidifier for the kids.
  11. 22 currently. Drove through freezing fog, I think, on our way home last temp from the in laws going past the Jersey City Res.; that or there was a very large fire nearby. Temps were at 31/32 and all of a sudden visibility dropped considerably; once we gained elevation, it cleared out.
  12. Lots of clouds around this morning. Comfortable, but it might cap temps.
  13. Down to 51 here after the front. Maybe .25” today thankfully.
  14. Completely off topic, but these events should really shine a light on the need for considerable upgrades to sanitation and storm water management.
  15. 2.42” north of Byram and about a 1/2” in Chester, 12 miles due south. Not complaining as my basement was finally drying out.
