Started with heavy rain around 7:45 while we waited for the bus; kids 1st day back. Still going now with frequent lightening and thunder. No wind.

Just returned from a week in the Adirondacks; this humidity feels oppressive! Going to need 24 hours to get re-adjusted.

@MANDA that confirms my guess of 1.25” at my house. A buddy in Denville sent photos of how high the Rockaway crested this morning.

Heavy rain in chester just blew up. Proceeded by decent lightening, no winds.

Heavy line of storms just formed right over my area and heading north east. It might have dropped another 1”.

Buddies of mine are sending videos from upstate. Parts of Albany proper are under feet of water. Even Stuyvesant Plaza, uptown by UAlbany, is flooding.

This looks like Irene all over again; I am expecting massive damage on a localized scale.

The east side of the Hudson valley is getting crushed; I suspect water rescues are underway in the valley areas.

Also I must be having radar hallucinations, but there seems to be a curl of some really intense rain in Hunterdon County.

No disagreement about upgrades/debris clean up, but where I was the rate was considerable. That part of Monmouth County is also rather low lying, not more than 20 miles from the Atlantic as the crow flies.

I was at a site inspection in Ocean Township from 10:00-11:30 this morning. It was some of the heaviest rain I’ve seen in a while. Multiple roads were flooded as I made my way back to Route 18.

Port Jervis/Huguenot area looks like it’s getting crushed. That area had a wicked flood in 2006/2007 I think, when the Neversink went over its banks. Hopefully the stationary cells start to lift.
