CMC just came in colder than last night's run. Quite a bit of sleet and freezing rain. The chance of getting snow from this event is fading, but ice is another story. If it happens, hopefully we'll get more sleet than freezing rain.

Yeah, the CMC came in colder than the 12z run. Gives us quite a bit of sleet. Way too early to know what precip types we're gonna have.

Yeah it was a really nice snow squall here too. Complete whiteout conditions for a little while. However it only briefly lightly dusted grassy areas because the temps were so warm. When the sun came out before the squall we shot up to 44 degrees here. We probably would have picked up a quick half inch had the temp been 5 degrees colder. Would've been an awesome squall event had temps been a little colder, but it was still nice to see.

Big difference for you though since you're way to the west. I just hit 44 degrees here. It's not going to be as much of an issue for warmer areas near the coast.

The temp here is up to 43, so very unlikely we will see any accumulation from the snow squall. RGEM changes it over to rain by the time it gets here too, so that's possible. Too bad the temps are not a little bit colder to make this snow squall event more interesting.

Yeah not nearly as good as GFS, but it's an improvement.

12z Euro cuts the storm way to the west, so it's much warmer than GFS and GGEM. Obviously a long way to go.

I find 60s very comfortable. Looking forward to running with a t-shirt on this afternoon. I love winter and snow, but it's nice to have some of these very warm days mixed in. I don't mind the more Colorado style winters that we've had in recent years, with the combination of warmer temps but still getting plenty of snow.

Now up to 67 here. No surprise that the warmth is overperforming.

12z GGEM shows a significant winter storm next thursday night into friday. Snow to ice back to snow. Obviously a long way to go, but we certainly have something to watch.

66 degrees here. What a day.

Yeah some spots got more, but it was a 2 to 4 inch snowfall for the majority of the area. But definitely much more than snowman predicted. I'm glad the early March pattern is looking interesting. We'll need a good March snowstorm to get to normal snowfall here west of the city. Hopefully the pattern will deliver.

With weather it's great to have variety. Snow is my favorite, but I wouldn't want it all year round. All of the seasons have good things to offer. I enjoy all of them.

HRRR did a great job with this event. I remember rooting hard for HRRR to be correct about getting several inches up here when most other models were showing little or saying you'd have to go south of the NYC area get more than an inch or so. It was impressive how HRRR picked up on the idea of northern areas getting several inches at 48 hours out and locked into that solution over the 2 days leading up to the event. It never wavered a bit with the snowy solution. Definitely a nice victory for the HRRR.

I just saw a couple Cardinals in the snow here. Beautiful birds and we have quite a few of them here.

We did hit 3 inches here, but it's not accumulating anymore with the temp up to the mid 30s. I got the 3 inches off of the car tops and they're just staying wet as the light snow melts when it hits. This was a nice event though. Beautiful postcard scene with the trees and bushes covered with wet snow.

LOL no way we're gonna see an additional 2 inches. Rates are light now and the temp is up to 35.

Yeah the 2 snowstorms in January were nice, but we didn't have the big beautiful flakes that we have right now. We were at about 15 before this event, so this will get us to 18 or a little over for the winter. Late February looking very warm, so this is likely our only snow event for February. It's going to take a good March snowstorm to get us to near normal snowfall for the winter here. But if it doesn't happen, at least this wasn't one of those disasterous winters with single digits snowfall. Getting close to 20 inches for a winter here certainly isn't good, but it also isn't horrible.

2.5" here so far. Another nice little band blossomed on radar so we're back to moderate snow and the flakes are big. Maybe we can get to 3 inches here. Beautiful out there with the wet snow covering everything. Nice event.

RGEM looks as if it's bumping up amounts too. Snow map isn't out yet, but the run looked more impressive on the color loop.

I know the HRRR is a very inconsistent model. Hopefully it will score a victory with this one. It continues to show a solid 3 inch snowfall for the entire area on its 12z run.
