  1. Starting tomorrow we're expecting 5 days in a row with temps in the upper 90s here. Gonna be the worst heat wave in a long time.
  2. Yeah it has been very frustrating.
  3. Yeah I just got a few gusts of wind from it, but it's too far to the south to give me any rain. Very close for our friend Allsnow. Hopefully he's catching the northern part of that downpour down there in Metuchen.
  4. It has been the worst I've seen in many years too. So dry that you could hear the crunching of the brown grass when walking out there. I did pick up a half inch of rain today, so we finally have a little moisture in the soil for a change here.
  5. We'll have to see if the activity in southeast PA that's moving ENE makes it to our area. RGEM does have some heavy rain moving through this evening, but we shall see. Since I'm in the extreme northern corner of Middlesex county I was lucky to catch that downpour that moved into Union county. Dropped a quick quarter inch of rain. Hopefully other parts of Middlesex county will get some rain over the next few hours. As I type this I see a new downpour just popped up and is moving into the southwest part of the county. There will be some opportunities over the next few hours.
  6. Yeah I also didn't hear any thunder, but I'm just glad to finally get much needed rain. About a half inch between the 2 downpours, and hopefully more coming later today.
  7. Just had a nice downpour here. Lasted only 5 minutes but it came down in buckets. Some wind gusts in the 30s too. This was the 2nd downpour here today. Good to finally get some moisture in the soil. I can finally take a little break from watering the vegetable garden.
  8. I don't blame you for not waking up for a minor event like that, lol. I was up late last night and 2am was about when I was trying to get to sleep, so I was glad to see it raining moderately out there.
  9. Yeah it was good to finally get a little rain last night. I was surprised that the batch of moderate rain in PA held together and gave us a period of moderate rain overnight last night. Picked up almost a quarter inch here too. Obviously only enough to help a little bit and we need much more. Today the activity will be very isolated, but it should be more widespread tomorrow.
  10. Not a drop here. It's so dry you can hear the crunching when you walk on the brown grass. Hopefully monday will work out. It looks good right now, but who knows with the luck we've been having.
  11. RGEM has a lot of rain for monday too. Hopefully that will be the day that we finally get desperately needed heavy rain.
  12. Hopefully the Euro will be right about that. It's has been a long time since I've seen it this dry here. The grass is brown and leaves are coming down from the trees. The plants in my vegetable garden look stressed even though I'm watering every day. We desperately need rain. Hopefully sunday, but you have to be skeptical in a super dry pattern like this.
  13. I'm starting to notice that with some trees too, and of course the grass is burning out. Everything is under stress because it has been so dry. I see 12z NAM and HRRR have some pretty good storms tomorrow. Really hoping we get some heavy rain tomorrow.
  14. Had a heavy downpour here, but it was very brief. Just a tenth of an inch of rain, but better than nothing.
  15. Yeah I thought about you when I saw those downpours on radar in northwest NJ. Frustrating when a downpour misses by just a few miles.
  16. The models are showing most of the rain missing us to the south tomorrow. It looks like an event for southern NJ. We do have the chance of isolated t-storms this afternoon and evening. I'm hoping for a downpour, but it's only a slight chance. Super dry here. The grass is burning out now. Really need rain, but not much in sight unfortunately.
  17. Yeah and now the models aren't showing much for late week. No surprise. I will just have to keep watering the vegetable garden often.
  18. It is bone dry out there. The ground is parched. Hopefully the potential rain for thursday night and friday will work out.
  19. The t-storm threat certainly doesn't look as good as it did a couple days ago. I see 12z RGEM does have a pretty good round of rain moving in after midnight for NYC-south. Looks kind of like a little wave along the front. Maybe we can get some rain that way.
  20. 92 with a dewpoint of 68 here. Dewpoints will fall to the low 50s tomorrow afternoon and stay there for monday, so great timing for outdoor activities the next 2 days.
  21. I heard a little thunder here too, and briefly windy with the heavy downpour.
  22. Heavy downpour here right now. Much needed rain.
  23. We've had several very brief heavy downpours here today. Each downpour lasted only a few minutes, but it has added up to about a quarter inch of rain. Just enough to water the garden.
  24. 12z RGEM shows a pretty good line of showers/storms moving through during the afternoon tomorrow. HRRR looks pretty good too. It has gotten very dry out there, so hopefully these models will be correct about us getting a decent amount of rain tomorrow.
