Unfortunately but not surprisingly they've been falling apart as they move east. Just a light shower here. Thank goodness I got the .75 early this morning.

The storm moving into Hunterdon County is on track to hit our area. Hopefully it'll hold together.

Some decent storms in eastern PA right now. At least a slight chance that we'll get hit by one of those in a couple hours.

That's about what I got too. When I went to bed at midnight and saw those downpours in eastern PA, I figured they'd fall apart or miss us because our luck has been so bad. Was surprised when I woke up at 2:45 and it was pouring. Glad I can finally take a break from watering the garden today. Obviously we need a lot more, but that was desperately needed rain.

I'm going outside right now to water. Have to keep my tomatoes and other vegetable plants going in this terrible parched environment.

Yeah that cell missing us just to the south, and the stuff in Hunterdon County will miss us to the north. We can't buy a drop of rain. The situation is horrendous ... don't think I've ever seen it this parched out there.

Some heavy downpours in northern NJ right now, missing us as usual. Certainly a chance we could see something later today, but not getting my hopes up. I think I'll probably be watering again.

Yeah the dewpoints have been mid 50s to low 60s in our area during most of this 5 day extreme heat stretch. Obviously tremendous heat, but it hasn't felt that bad doing stuff outside thanks to the reasonable humidity levels.

99 here right now. Good chance I will hit 100 in the next couple hours, which will make it the 3rd time during this tremendous heat stretch. The dewpoint is 59, so at least the humidity isn't bad.

And tomorrow is looking like the worst day of this heat wave. I'm going to the Elton John concert at Metlife Stadium tomorrow night. Man that's gonna be a hot one for a concert.

Me too. The storm threat for monday looks pretty good, but we've had such bad luck in our area that we have to be skeptical.

High temp was 98 today, but as I said it didn't feel that bad with the dewpoint dropping down into the 50s here. I went for a 5 mile run this afternoon and it didn't feel bad running even though the temp was in the 90s. Amazing the difference a little lower humidity makes.

97 here but the dewpoint is down to 56, so it feels a little better out there today.

It's the worst I've ever seen it. I water the vegetable garden almost every day, yet the plants look so stressed. Very frustrating.

Back up to 99 right here. There are some stations that have hit 100 in this area.

It hit 99 here, but dropped back to 97 now with some more clouds. Gonna be a shame if we miss 100 by 1 degree.

Starting tomorrow we're expecting 5 days in a row with temps in the upper 90s here. Gonna be the worst heat wave in a long time.

Yeah it has been very frustrating.

Yeah I just got a few gusts of wind from it, but it's too far to the south to give me any rain. Very close for our friend Allsnow. Hopefully he's catching the northern part of that downpour down there in Metuchen.

It has been the worst I've seen in many years too. So dry that you could hear the crunching of the brown grass when walking out there. I did pick up a half inch of rain today, so we finally have a little moisture in the soil for a change here.

We'll have to see if the activity in southeast PA that's moving ENE makes it to our area. RGEM does have some heavy rain moving through this evening, but we shall see. Since I'm in the extreme northern corner of Middlesex county I was lucky to catch that downpour that moved into Union county. Dropped a quick quarter inch of rain. Hopefully other parts of Middlesex county will get some rain over the next few hours. As I type this I see a new downpour just popped up and is moving into the southwest part of the county. There will be some opportunities over the next few hours.
