  1. I hope we get a decent amount Sunday into Monday. I know we had that very wet week to start the month, but it dries out quickly this time of year. By this weekend we'll be getting to the point that we could use some again.
  2. Another nice airmass coming in for next week. Looks as if we could see high temps in the upper 70s with low humidity for Tuesday through Thursday next week. This is turning out to be a pretty comfortable August after that blazing hot July that we had.
  3. Had a high temp of 83 here today. Felt great with the dew point around 57. As WestBaby said, a top 10 day of the summer.
  4. I see Roger Smith did a good job explaining in the post below yours. Did you have any luck seeing any? I saw 6 in the hour I spent outside from 12:30 to 1:30. A little disappointing to see only 6 since I've always seen more than that in an hour (usually more than 10), but a couple of them were especially nice. I saw a fireball and another one that was very long and colorful. I'm gonna spend another hour outside tonight and hopefully will see more this time.
  5. Anyone else looking forward to watching the Perseid meteor shower tonight? I'm gonna go outside after midnight and see how many I can see in an hour.
  6. It's going to be perfect viewing conditions for the Perseid meteor shower Sunday night. Looking forward to that.
  7. Some people are so far behind with the weather. I was at the grocery store today, and someone said they thought it was supposed to rain tomorrow. lol
  8. It's going to be spectacular this weekend through most of next week. Hopefully your friend took your good advice to not cancel the party tomorrow. I'm having a cookout here tomorrow. It's going to be perfect weather for it.
  9. The leading part of the line that's hitting our area really fell apart. Just some light rain moving in here now. Looks a little more intense to the south and we'll see what other cells form, but overall this event tonight isn't looking very impressive. Will be some areas that get hit though. New run of HRRR fires it up a little to my south and east.
  10. These cells in NJ ahead of the main batch in PA are tiny. Had a 1 minute moderate shower here. Latest HRRR says our area could get a good storm around 5pm. Later today and tonight doesn't look like a big widespread event, but there will be some spots that get hit hard.
  11. Yeah this was the 2nd time lawns were on the verge of burnout and then saved this season. I thought they were about toast at the end of May, but then we got enough rain to save them in June. I'm glad landscape/lawns came back to life again.
  12. 0z HRRR weakens the line before it gets to us around 5-6pm, but then has some more scattered cells after that. I think some areas will get hit hard tomorrow evening while others miss out, similar to most of the severe weather events this season. Should be an interesting evening even though the event overall isn't what it could have been with Debby's big rains missing us well to the west.
  13. Another quarter inch here this morning as our wet week continues. HRRR and NAM 3km look similar for tomorrow into tomorrow night. Mostly dry for most of the day tomorrow as Debby passes well to the west, and then we get into some action around 5 or 6pm. Looks like a typical scattered convection event for tomorrow night with some places getting little and other places getting 1 to 2 inches from downpours. Severe weather threat as well as others have mentioned. All over by early Saturday morning. Then an amazing stretch of weather for the weekend through mid next week. Sunshine with highs in the 80s and dew points in the 50s. A much needed drying out period and the nicest stretch of the summer.
  14. Sorry to hear that happened, but I'm glad you're doing better. Yeah I hate mosquitoes too. I've been bitten a million times but thankfully it has never caused a problem for me.
  15. I've always noticed that the more humid it is outside, the more mosquitoes you see. So I assume we've had our worst summer for mosquitoes because it has been an extremely humid summer.
  16. It feels so refreshing. It's going to be invigorating exercising outside in this weather this afternoon. A rare treat in the middle of summer.
  17. The Canadian models have been on their own with the idea of more significant rain with Debby Friday into Friday night for our area. Today's NAM and GFS and last night's Euro give us only around a half inch. I wouldn't be surprised if some spots get a little more than that with some downpours due to some extra tropical moisture ahead of the front, but it definitely doesn't look like a big deal and we have a great weekend ahead.
  18. A nice turnaround from the very hot and dry July when a ton of watering was needed. After the last of the rain passes late Friday night, the dry period for the weekend through most of next week will be welcome.
  19. I see GFS sped up the timing and ends the rain during the overnight Friday night like the CMC and Euro. Also it doesn't give us much rain with the remnants of Debby Friday into Friday night. We might get more than what GFS shows, but today was the main event for the week. Debby's remnants Friday isn't looking like a big deal.
