  1. None at the beach either. And no guards to blow whistles for running
  2. I think we are keeping the same pool mgmt co we’ve used the last 5-6 years but cost for 3 yr contract will rise significantly. Always a trade off to stay open later than Labor Day and it would have to be written in the contract. Staffing def an issue. Calendar seems to factor in with early or late Memorial or Labor weekends to either feel too soon to close or just right. my kid worked yesterday as a guard and said it was so packed they did triples in chairs.
  3. Saw a tweet the other day about how long track systems historically turn but not all. Florence is a good example. Odds favor OTS but it’s just too far out to know today. In other words..we just don’t know.
  4. Had to know. Like rubbernecking on the highway. Have to look. Now i have something to else to stand outside and yell at along with clouds on SVR days
  5. Back in my day we had no ac so not only did we have to go to school but we also had to shovel coal into the boilers they ran to cook lunches and make hot water for the insane asylum next door.
  6. I hate this thread. It is a great thread and lots of information. Confirms my suspicions on trends for marginal events. Its not just always my elevation thats to blame. Temps really have affected things. But I hate this thread. I knew what it would be before reading and this was my first thought
  7. 59 both at home and here on the slower lower
  8. What a nice cool morning
  9. Payback for summer with no summer. Late season heat waves suck.
  10. Not liking the heat next week
  11. Could be. Question is if so will it reform in time before landfall and does that increase wind? Or does it try to cycle and hit too much land and dry air which weakens it?
  12. Waking up to see it got to Cat 4 is whoa. Yeah the potential was there but you never assume. Just shows that the record gulf water temps are like nitrous to a car engine
  13. We are. Doing you a solid to get you out of the Weather Channel Mike Seidel cone
  14. nice to remain blissfully unaware. lol
  15. Glad to hear they have a safer place to go to. Hope things aren't bad after it passes
  16. Had around .5” from a few downpours last night
  17. Nice sub 60° morning. As much as I’ve loved the death heat shield we’ve benefited from, it’s also gonna keep any tropical away from us that might help with our drought. NW flow won’t help with that
  18. Low of 57. It feels amazing for Aug
  19. Just some light to moderate showers so far. Worst of it split to my W and E. All good. Not sure I need flooding rains.
