  1. Yep. Remember it well. Was in high school then. Was a Friday getting OES thinking that’s all we’ll get. Then the storm hit that night. We’ve had ‘83, ‘96 and 2003 that come to mind that has bumped north for a hit. But old enough to remember PD1 in ‘79 and 2010 more recently that suppression can happen. Let’s hope the weekend event can bump north.
  2. Just looked and coming down good. That being said, still not really accumulating.
  3. Do temps fall? Or are we looking at more white rain around here?
  4. Welcome to the bayous of New England. Been snowing here all morning with nothing to show. I hope temperatures drop when the heavier stuff arrives.
  5. It was mid 40s all afternoon here. Good to see the snow over performed where it fell.
  6. That December 5-6, 1981 event was one my favorites. NNW flow prevented any changeover that was predicted at least for here.
  7. A sprinkle. Not even any distant thunder. As usual everything fell apart as it approached this side of Narragansett Bay.
  8. Cell just went through here. Nickel sized hailstones and good thunder lightning show.
  9. Btw, check out SUNY Oswego webcams. Getting hammered by that stream.
  10. We don’t even have an inch here. Warm sectored and pretty much wiped out what had fallen.
  11. Looking at my cameras at my house in Sunapee still snowing there.
  12. Still raining here. Have a house I bought last year in NH and looking at my camera feed looks like a couple of inches there. Asking myself why I didn’t plan to be there this weekend.
  13. Is it possible that blocking is so strong we get something retrograding?
  14. Wow. Still raining here on the E side of the bay.
  15. For societal impacts ‘78 was like nothing else. I was 11 y.o. at the time. Had an afternoon paper route after school. Still remember delivering papers in a raging blizzard and loving it! Had an uncle that lived with my family that got stuck carpooling from Cranston in Providence that was rescued by National Guard and spent a week at Ri Hospital.
  16. The 81 storm here was incredible. One of my favorite storms. Got about 2 feet of wind blown paste. Wind stayed NNW which prevented any changeover.
  17. Still amazes me how well Gloria was forecast about 1 week out in ‘85. All forecasts had it hitting somewhere on the E coast 1 week+. And here we are in 2023 with such uncertainty about Lee.
