  1. 73 here. High for the day. Feels great with that breeze.
  2. I don't go to Dover a lot for food/beer, but if you are looking for a place to grab lunch and a beer(assuming they are doing dine in) 33 West Ale House and Grille is a place I have been a few times and its very good. Food is good and good craft beer selection.
  3. I am guessing these folks know nothing about beer brewing, or history.
  4. Speaking of heights, and thoughts of crisp cool nights..
  5. The height at which you will find 500 mb of pressure in the atmosphere.Typically we talk in terms of height anomalies. The higher up the 500 mb level is, the warmer the column of air below that point. Its a good indication of surface temps in most cases, although inversions and advection can mess with that correlation. In the summer months it translates to big heat when we have +height anomalies over the east.
  6. Dry is good. No significant rain for the next 5 days would be wonderful.
  7. 2.02" Hopefully that is about it.
  8. This is why you read the headlines and the AFD. The mesos were all over the place with exactly where the localized heavy rains would set up, even this morning. My local forecast had 1-2 for today, and it looks pretty spot on as of now. Further NW was more iffy based on most guidance, so probably why LWX went more generic/conservative with amounts on the point/click. And again, WPC highlighted the risk for excessive rains for DC-BWI-PHI and points east yesterday.
  9. That was my ****ing point. Try actually reading for context next time.
  10. You are never going to see a forecast of 4-6" when the convection is scattered in nature. Come on. Read the headlines. There was a FFW put into effect. Read the forecast discussions. Read the WPC outlooks and meso discussions. There was a MPD put out at 1245 PM today highlighting the FF risk for the DC area. The excessive rain potential was well advertised in advance, and localized amounts of 5" were highlighted.
  11. I have tried plenty of beers from DuClaw, and I gotta say, they mostly seem to miss the mark for me. Always mediocre for a given beer style.
  12. Satellite went out. Hearing thunder for the first time today with this cell. Tropical deluge.
  13. I am doubling my citra, and doubling my fun. Oliver!
  14. 1.3" Looking at the radar, doesn't look like I am going to be able to wish away more heavy rain. New grass is not exactly thriving. Already 6.6" for the month.
  15. Pouring here but its pretty scattered for now. 1.15" Much of that fell this morning as a moderate rain. Hoping to miss the really heavy stuff.
  16. The chance for excessive rain today was forecast yesterday for the area. Models struggle with pinpointing the exact locations where the heavy rain will occur given subtle forcing mechanisms and weak flow aloft. There is no bust here.

  18. It just left. Miss it already?
  19. Storm motions are likely going to be slow with very weak flow aloft. PW is 2"+.The flash flood risk is legit.
  20. I hope this trend of wetter for eastern areas continues into winter. Looking forward to lots of cold rain.
  21. The stuff this morning is round one. Round two comes later with the cold front moving through. Places NW of I-95 should get in on that action.
  22. 29 - 9 19 - 0 NFL starts tonight. Those are baseball scores from yesterday.
  23. 0.33" since yesterday afternoon. Hoping the heaviest rain misses here today. I have a new section of grass seedlings popping up. They wont appreciate being pounded by torrential rain.
  24. I love the clean, boxy look of the mid 60s cars in general. The 66-67 Chevy II (Nova) was the best of that style imo. The L79 package in a car that weighed about 2600 lbs made for a really fun ride. These are a favorite today for restomodding. Most people put an actual frame under it, as the early unibody design was not good with all that power and torque.
