  1. Given the amplified LW pattern as depicted and the advertised ridging in the NAO domain, some degree of phasing is almost a certainty. The outcome would seem largely dependent on the timing and extent of such. Without any phase and with the ridge to the west practically on top of us, there is probably no chance.
  2. In the game at least. The GEFS is a bit further SE, and the Canadian mean is crushed way south.
  3. You and I don't need it so much, esp this time of year. Might be a little different for the far inland crowd. You going to still be around for our epic late winter blizz?
  4. After today's runs, I am mildly interested. Kind of nice being busy with work and other stuff lately. Let one sneak up maybe.
  5. One 6"+ storm and I am at climo mean snowfall for the first time since 2017-18. Make or break!
  6. GFS/ CMC blend...right where I want it at this range.
  7. It would have to track 100 miles further east for me to get excited about a redux. It had impressive WAA precip well out ahead of the low which produced around 8" of heavy wet snow here, but the actual low tracked inland, resulting in 40 degree rain after that. By the time the cold came back in the precip was done and the end result was about 3-4" of slop that froze solid.
  8. Where is WW? Looking good on the mean.
  9. Is this actual news? Practically anything you can name is probably offensive to someone. I have always found Barney and the Teletubbies to be very disturbing. That shit should be banned.
  10. psu up on that ridge tho. We need your Florida coordinates.
  11. 0z EPS for mid next week. Has a wave tracking to our south but not quite cold enough. GEPS has something, but a little further south. GEFS has a sheared out mess crushed way south, as usual lol.
  12. This belongs in the Feb disco/obs thread.
  13. @nw baltimore wx I picked this one up today too. Have not tried it yet. Tomorrow!
  14. The 60 min is a very drinkable IPA. The 90 min is a step above with a noticeably more malty backbone. The 120 is an absolute beast.
  15. Me too. They seem to hit the mark on everything I have tried. Very impressed.
  16. I picked up a new arrival from Black Flag today. Chocolate Land Vol 3 Imperial stout. Another winner from BF!
  17. Well that certainly is a tad different than a 120! Looks quite good though. Next time, go yourself, and get the 120.
  18. I am all in for something, but that is not an exciting look to me at all. I see a broad vorticity lobe and not a sharp shortwave. That wont get much done at the surface in our region. I suppose there is plenty of time for it to evolve into something entirely different though.
  19. Drinking a 120, and I scroll down and see that shit. I actually think I could eat some of that and take a sip of this and not even flinch. Not sure if compliment is the right word, but this beer can cut through anything.
  20. I wont crap up the discussion threads but I will say this in banter- I would love a 2 week sunny and dry stretch, regardless of the temperatures. Sure I will take a random March snow event, but it isn't going to change my feelings about this winter. It is no better than a C.
  21. It is also about time to lift the international travel restrictions for the masses. There are enough exceptions to the "bans' that every variant of the virus ends up here anyway, so what's the point? Test, mask up, and quarantine if required.
  22. I am teaching "conventional" in person classes here in MD, where students travel from all over the country to come here, and we follow the accepted and proven protocols- including testing, social distancing, and masking up in the classroom, and have had no issues. Granted we have smaller classes, so it is more conducive to keeping students 6+ feet apart, etc, but there is also potentially more risk by bringing students here from all parts of the US. We are a year into this thing now, so it is not like we don't have a clue how to deal with it at this point. The difference is I teach professionals in the maritime industry, and not a bunch of kids. That being said, it clearly can work with minimal risk by implementing effective control measures.
  23. I ninja'd all of you as I posted about it this time yesterday lol. The late next week period is still a semi interesting look as advertised on the means. Really the only period with any potential in sight.
  24. Time for a March LR discussion thread? lookin' lamby.
  25. It seems a like an odd combo of flavors, but it all works. Very good.
