  1. Past hour
  2. I don’t want to step in the middle of this, but why would the temperature be accurate but the winds not? Like that’s likely the wind speed in your yard just like the temperature, no?

  4. Yeah there's like 11,000 customers without power in Massachusetts. Not a shockingly high number. In February we had 300,000 in March 65,000. With full leaf out it's unimpressive.
  5. We'll see what tonight brings, but doubt "forests leveled" gonna happen.
  6. Because the winds are not accurate. It’s on my deck at ground level surrounded by woods. Why don’t you ever post models ?
  7. Is there a reason why these wind storms always seem to peak at night? I guess it's just random but I can only remember one peaking during the day and that was 03/02/2018. That event is still king for my area in terms of high wind events. It beats October 2017 and 2021 for sure.
  8. 59 with showers here Tunnels to Towers is still going on tomorrow. I have to be there at 8am.
  9. Winds have been unimpressive here. Best I could manage in 2 days is a 24 mph gust. Wasn't expecting much but more than that.
  10. Wind and rain returned after the lull that was forecasted. 55/54
  11. Shopping in a mall in Hudson Yards, wind and rain are really cranking here in manhattan
  12. Lots to unpack in this final El Niño update before the main Outlook in about 6 weeks time, but this weekend's major east coast storm may be a sign of what is to come. Here is one excerpt to provide a bit of a sneak-preview: A diligent forecaster that has engaged in an exhaustive analysis of the data will be acutely aware of the fact that the pattern across the hemisphere has grown much more representative of a healthy El Nino during the month of August. A forecaster of this ilk would position oneself to also be aware of a potential mid-season shift westward in the orientation of an El Nino that absolutely presents as east-based in the mean; not to mention a winter season that was exceptionally mild overall in the midst of a rapidly warming climate, yet managed to facilitate shorter-term unions between the arctic branch and the most impressive subtropical jet ever observed to author one of the most scintillating chapters in meteorological lore- https://easternmassweather.blogspot.com/2026/09/record-el-nino-poised-to-trigger.html
  13. Think they're for his chestnut tree. Not paw paws.
  14. Wind is definitely escalating now. Pity it's dark out and I can't see the mayhem unfold.
