Wow, this thread really is showing the continued need to split NYC/LI from eastern PA at all costs necessary when it comes to winter storms.

No offense to the NYC posters... but they do tend to not think of PHL (and vice versa with the PHL posters). So this isn't necessarily a bad suggestion... it would just spread the met wealth a bit thinner.

to be fair to both sides of the argument for an "MECS" drought...in the last decade we've had

2000-2001-1 millenium storm

2002-2003-1 PD II

2003-2004-1 dec 5

2004-2005-1 jan blizzard

2005-2006-1 feb blizzard

2008-2009-1 March SECS/MECS

2009-2010-3 speaks for itself

2010-2011-2

That means 3 winters featured no MECS and 8 out of the last 11 winters have at least featured 1 MECS...cant really say there has been much of a drought. The longest we went was 2006-2007 through 2007-2008 or 2 straight winters

Yup, trust me when I lived on Long Island, I didn't give a rats arse about Allentown.....now living in SE PA, I don't really care how much snow is on the ground at Central Park,

With that said, I still have lots of family on Long Island, so I do monitor storms closely to give them the low down. Otherwise, I'd care less.

Thats actually the time frame I was talking about.. In 08 it took until March and it was nothing like the past two seasons, we changed over to sleet after about 9 inches in my area. By multi year I meant (~3 seasons)

From someone who has lived in both locations over the past 30 years, they are two completely different worlds weatherwise.

Here's hoping both areas get a solid 5-10" snow on Friday.

Right now it looks good for both areas.

Thanks for your positive outlook

It shows huge potential but does not bring it up the coast. Also, there is no 50/50 low.

Any news on a potential storm Next week ? I know this thread is for the upcoming Event but curious since there has been Signals the past day or so showing ANOTHER storm early next week..

Edit..After I posted I saw a post Mentioning it...Thanks
