I had to go to Lowes due to a broken toilet handle.  There was a huge line of folks inside waiting for a generator shipment to come in.  Poor souls.

I did see some flurries and light sleet while out.  That was about it.

There were some things about the forecast and models that don't make sense to me.  Reluctant to say anything other than we will see how it turns out.  
 
 
 
 
 

I am right with you. Just not seeing the moisture transport in from the gulf… I think the next 6 hours will tell the tale…. Not saying this will be a nothingburger, we will see some icing and sleet, just don’t see the amounts hitting .75 ice here in the western part of Polk county…. Could the thunder storms be robbing the moisture feeding north?

Lots of What ifs from this week. At least in my backyard today would’ve been perfect for snow. North east wind all day temperature hovering around 34 to 32 dark gloomy. Sigh

The wedge keeps wedging. Honestly that’s it. We need to keep it chilly for a few thousand ft.

We have a very light dusting of sleet now on hard surfaces.  Not much has fallen, but when it's this cold, it doesn't take long.

Moderate sleet. Fun to listen to as it bounces off the windows, trees, leaves, etc.

I thought I had all sleet, but there is a glaze over everything. My driveway is already a sheet of ice.

So far nada here. Just wind, cold and some pingers.

The temp keeps dropping. Mostly IP, but enough ZR embedded to stick it all together, immediately. These aren't loose ice pellets; they are combining into one big glacial sheet of ice.

Told my wife that exact same thing. She doesn’t know what the hrrr is but I said “mega deathtron ice totals.”

Sleet has really picked up, but just like others are saying, there is definitely freezing rain mixed in leaving a glaze already.

Maybe a positive sign? I’m currently snow. They’re tiny flakes but flying everywhere
