Record cold in the South

They had up to a half inch in northeastern NC overnight. I wonder if anyone will post a rare snowliage shot from out there.

Whenever we grade this winter in March 2026, we must not forget snowfall on the Outer Banks in early November.

I had a Snapchat from one of my friends going deer hunting in Hamilton NC and it looked like an inch. Side roads were covered too. They must’ve gotten under some rates

We didn’t get as cold as forecast here but did have a hard freeze. Bottomed out at 30.0 and were at/below freezing for 6 hours

Gives you an idea of how rare snowfall of any amount is outside the mountains in the first half of November (this data set is 1970-2024)

That's interesting. We got down to 26, yet the ground did not freeze. I'm ok with that, as we have lots of flowers that survived.

There was no way the 20's were happening with those winds.

I would say this is at least a few days behind. There are some trees peaking in the triangle now but the main peak has already faded and the winds have resulted in a lot of leaf drop now.

My obs....COLD AF....and it took one day of the heat coming on to make me sick.  Happens every year!  I need a humidifier asap.

Snow flurries and cloud cover prevented us to get to freezing.  Only 34.  I think tonight we get below freezing.

45/34 with snow flurries.  Elizabeth City, NC some 100 miles south of me got a half inch of snow.  Good for them.

This morning was the snow flurries but weird little band swinging thought to the north.
