HRRR now gives Chattanooga .7” of snow when it has shown nothing. A little front end surprise looks to be in store.

The 12Z HRRR - That ZR did not want to exit Henderson County and the escarpment the entire time. Phew.

27.5/15.1 here at the house. No precip yet. I'd love to believe the NAM with its dry slot later but it has handled this initial onset very, very poorly so far.

HRRR is showing the warm nose coming in a lot sooner.  Heck it shows the low cutting up Eastern TN.

Yeah NAM hasn't done well at all. Neither has the Euro in my opinion.

2 major things I'm noticing that non of the models picked up. 1 is that there is a lot of moisture streaming across TN currently.  That's right at our border already this morning.  

2 is that the orientation of this moisture isn't SW to NE but moving due East. Non of the models had that today let alone this morning.

24 and a nice heavy flurry at the store in Blowing Rock. Got a feeling we won't be here for the full day today. I will say there is absolutely nobody out and about this morning- downtown BR was empty.

Man. I don't get concerned often or stressed but that ZR hanging out the entire time IMBY and these maps I am looking at... Not good. Finished all my prep this morning at 6AM. I've been through one terrible ice storm before. Can still remember the constant sound of trees snapping.
