Wowsers! That's a heck of an area of rain over the central part of the county considering there was NO rain in the forecast today until a slight chance after 12pm.

Edit: CTP just added in a 30% chance for this morning. (once the cells had already formed)

Yeah things really exploded out this way.  Flash flood warning up around Manheim.  Storms just not moving.  I missed out on the worst of it but still got a nice drenching to the tune of almost half an inch.

I'm at the health campus and there is water everywhere. Total deluge.

I get one "decent" thunderstorm and lose a big tree because of it.

Give me light rain/drizzle/mist 24/7/365.

That happened at my mom's in AZ in 2023. It was the nonsoon monsoon, but we did get one big storm, which had to rip the roof off her patio. Glad it wasn't the main roof, but still...

I was just glad I was out there when it happened as it was easier for me to get it fixed as opposed to her trying with her handicapped condition.

Any idea what the wind was? Glad it didn’t hit a house!

Wind speed is the only inaccurate measurement on my station. It's just too sheltered.

Having said that, the highest speed I've ever recorded at my house was 41 mph (LOL) during Isabel and last evening I recorded winds of 33 mph. I'd guesstimate maybe 20 mph or so higher?

This was a perfect evening for dinner of steak and fries and beers on Millworks’ roof. Now going to cut the grass in hopes of rain tomorrow.

Hush...

Today's my wife's company picnic at Knoebels.

64 here as well. Minus exactly half an inch of rain.

Rain shield abruptly stopped just west-northwest of Mount Joy yesterday.

Yeah I noticed that, was thinking you may have just missed out on everything. I’d really like to mow before it gets brutal out this afternoon but everything is just too wet right now. Maybe I can sneak it in around noon before the clouds start to break and heat up. I’ll be watching the visible satellite closely this morning ha.

After the fog burns off this morning we should see some sun returning this afternoon before more showers arrive after 8pm this evening. We should be much warmer and humid compared to yesterday's near record low maximum temperatures. We should see readings a few degrees above normal in the mid to upper 80's. Sunnier tomorrow with less humidity and temperatures near today's levels. Next rain chances arrive by Monday night and into Tuesday morning. Sunny weather returns by Wednesday with temperatures next week close to normal levels for early July. No sign of any 90-degree readings across Chester County for at least the next week to 10 days.
