overcautionisbad
There is something I have noticed for years that I don't think everyone on this forum has accepted. If the model has the Carolinas and Virginia Beach in the bullseye it doesn't usually trend north. It trends north when Richmond is in the bullseye. 1 1

RIC usually misses north or south and east. RIC was in the jackpot 5 days out last storm and it trended north. Plus in this current setup it's really hard to get a north trend. It may go north a little but won't be anything significant. This has Southern VA/NC written all over it.
eaglesin2011
3 to 6 inches in the R I C would be significant in my book .. Especially for what is still on the ground in many places …

ldub23
Wakefield Still, the highest PoPs will be later Saturday through early Sunday as the coastal system rapidly intensifies and makes its closest approach to the area. PoPs range from 70-90% along the coast with likely PoPs from most of the remainder of the CWA. Snow comes to an end late Sunday afternoon/evening. Reduced visibility will also be possible with any falling snow, especially along the coast as wind gusts increase to 40 to 50+ mph along the coast and 30 to 35 mph further inland Saturday evening into Sunday. There is at least the potential for blizzard conditions, especially along the immediate coast. As mentioned above, impacts will vary across the region, but the synoptic setup supports the potential for a high-impact winter storm. Additional messaging and potential headlines may be needed late tonight or Thursday. Please continue to follow the latest forecast.
overcautionisbad
What a cruel cutoff. This for RVA would mean one side of town does way better than the other Come on just pull west a little. Get us in the pink and keep Hampton Roads in it
