Looks like things are about to come back to reality. Still hopeful for solid storm before the sleet takes over like it always does

If anyone really believed 24+ inches then they really are an RVA rookie .. lol

Anything over 6+ with sleet is gonna be around here for awhile…  4-8 is just about a lock at this point anything more is a bonus imo…

In 2016 we managed to stay mostly snow.  Minor mixing but flipped back to snow.

Still a lot of solutions possible but Euro has slowly been trending north. We’ll see if that trend continues

some of the individual members on the EPS were genuinely concerning. Not just mixing, but there were a few pure ice storm solutions. I think everyone in this forum would be content with warning level snow --> a couple inches of sleet --> maybe some snow on the backside

That would be more like what we’re accustomed to. Would still like to see the euro stop going north

I find it hard to believe with the temperatures that have been shown that there will be a major ice storm (freezing rain) in the Richmond area…

Down south & the VA Beach area… is a different story …

Do I think it may mix for an extended period sure it could but I think it’s going to be mainly sleet (in the Ric area)  .. This actually could be a good thing (if its not hours of mixing) it should limit the snow on power lines and trees… Roads & un blocked gutters are another story when the even colder air moves back in…

Not too doom and gloom .I actually agree the  N shift is real, Been analyzing the members and operations runs from 0z to 12z to 18z and there were definitely more members now bringing heavy snow to NOVA points north. However still lots showing hits here ,  just not as solid as earlier. Hopefully will correct back S.

something to watch. Takes so many pieces to come together for us to get a good snow here https://x.com/webberweather/status/2013779357618090201?s=46&t=5gcCLI7v5ivrQOOn6gky6g

Seems like the seasonal trend has been for these northern stream vorts to deamplify, miss phasing. But this is a different setup so we’ll see.

Whoever gets the freezing rain is absolutely screwed with cold air on the backside.

Agree on both comments. This setup is different. Euro has been trending more amped and weaker HP

ICON was pretty good for RIC. Big time mixing in HR. RIC flirts with the mix line. Granted it is the ICON too

It  looks  great for RIC. If the ICON is right a foot+ easy.

Yeah ICON still good for us, as long as the bleeding has stopped on the Euro, will feel pretty good and maybe get some sleep.

It’s tough in our little thread, and we only come out when there is a real threat, but between CHO, EZF, ROA, RIC, LYH, NOR and HR as a whole, we have a lot of differences, we are big damn state.

Well said… If you do post at least mention where your from.. Allot of differences .. Richmond is on the line but my belief is that it will be sleet not frz rain in this area… Closer to Hampton Roads /south its definitely a different story there with the precip type..

Definitely can’t complain about 10”+ here even if we mix at the end. Just hoping the north trend on the euro stops
