...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
SUNDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...For the Wind Chill Advisory, very cold wind chills. Wind
  chills as low as 20 below zero. For the Winter Storm Watch,
  heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 12 to 24 inches
  possible. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...Oswego county. Greatest accumulations will be across the
  higher terrain of the Tug Hill Plateau.

* WHEN...For the Wind Chill Advisory, until 11 AM EST this
  morning. For the Winter Storm Watch, from Saturday afternoon
  through Sunday evening.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Areas
  of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The
  hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening
  commute. The cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed
  skin in as little as 30 minutes.

Yeah I read that tweet from Cohen yesterday. It's amazing how many atmospheric scientists, meteorologists the like are all perplexed at why the planet is so fragile. Does the MJO drive it all? Is it the loss of Arctic sea ice? Is it the warming waters of the us Coast in the Pacific? So many questions so few answers.

Yeah I've noticed his Siberian snow experiment hasn't really been that accurate recently and it's caused him to be a bit standoffish about it.
