great videos tonight Rich! I give you mad props for braving these elements for even 4 minutes. Excellent job! Enjoy everyone!

Haha I am a snowboarder. I have clothes for these conditions. The only part that is hard is my hands as with my gloves on its hard to hold the video camera. Tomorrow I will documenting this event much better. Thanks though!

Awesome vids guys. My friends up off Ontario are in the thick of that band now. Intense snowfall, sea spray freezing up shoreline, and the best part thunder snow!! Friend has some video of thunder and lightning up there. He said no doubt the area will see 4 feet at this rate. The band is basically stationary now and the Tug is getting annihilated. Going to be a wicked 24-30 more hours up there. On the soundings they got from the project in the band is showing tremendous moistening up of the column overhead and just unleashing the fury of the snowfall. Truly amazing stuff. Stay safe all

I'm heading up via amtrak. Should arrive at 430. Should I expect delays? Sorry for the nob question. I'm not too familiar with the area.

Where exactly? if you are coming down to the city pretty much everything is closed, even flights out of BNIA have been diverted.

Estimate on how much you got? was reading the earlier AFD and they mentioned that they will never how much fell overnight due to the winds.

Will take 10-20 measurements tomorrow around the yard. I haven't been able to see the end of my driveway for 12 straight hours. This is going to be a historic storm for me, should crack my top 3 storms of all time.

Here is the latest AFD.

..BLIZZARD WARNING FOR ERIE-GENESEE-WYOMING COUNTIES...

EAST OF LAKE ERIE...BLIZZARD CONDITIONS CONTINUE ACROSS THE
SOUTHTOWNS TO DUNKIRK/FREDONIA AND INLAND ALONG AND NORTH OF
CATTARAUGUS CREEK. THE PASSAGE OF A SHORT WAVE EARLIER MONDAY EVENING
CAUSED A BRIEF DISRUPTION AND SLIGHT WEAKENING OF THE LAKE SNOW
BAND...BUT IT NOW HAS A PRONOUNCED DUAL PLUME STRUCTURE AND WITH
COLDEST OF THE BOUNDARY LAYER AIR IS JUST ARRIVING. EXPECT A
STRENGTHENING OF THE LAKE ERIE BAND WITH SNOWFALL RATES TO INCREASE
FROM ABOUT 1 INCH PER HOUR TO ABOUT 2 INCHES PER HOUR FROM MID
MORNING THROUGH EARLY AFTERNOON.

WIND ALONG THE FLANKS OF THE LAKE SNOW BAND WILL BE GUSTY THROUGH
THE DAY AND INTO THE NIGHT. 00Z NAM12 BUFKIT SHOWS A 55KT JET AT
ABOUT 3KFT TO 5KFT WITHIN THE UNSTABLE LOWER LEVELS OF THE LAKE
PLUMES. THIS WILL MIX DOWN AS GUSTS ALONG THE FLANKS OF THE SNOW
PLUME AND PRODUCE BLIZZARD CONDITIONS WITH THE HEAVY SNOW. AREA
TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN IN THE SINGLE NUMBERS ACROSS THE FORECAST
AREA...AND EVEN HANGING JUST BELOW ZERO ACROSS THE SOUTHERN TIER
CLOSER TO THE CORE OF THE COLDEST AIR. WILL MAINTAIN THE WIND CHILL
WARNING AS THE WIND PICK UP DURING THE DAY EVEN AS THE TEMPS CLIMB
OUT THE OVERNIGHT LOWS IN THE NEGATIVE NUMBERS.

EAST OF LAKE ONTARIO... LAKE SNOW BAND WILL BE MORE INTENSE WITH A
LONGER FETCH ALONG THE FULL LENGTH OF LAKE ONTARIO. THIS WILL FOCUS
ON THE CENTRAL TUG HILL WITH THE VERY GREATEST SNOW ACCUMULATION TO
BE AT THE TRIPLE JUNCTION OF JEFFERSON...LEWIS AND OSWEGO COUNTIES.
THE BAND WILL WANDER ONLY SLIGHTLY...A LITTLE FARTHER NORTH

SNOW AMOUNTS WILL BUILD STEADILY THROUGH THE DAY AND TONIGHT WITH 2
TO 3 FOOT AMOUNTS ACROSS SOUTHERN ERIE COUNTY...BOUNDED BY 2 FOOT
TOTALS IN NORTHERNMOST CHAUTAUQUA AND CATTARAUGUS COUNTIES ON THE
CHAUTAUQUA RIDGE THEN DROPPING SHARPLY SOUTHWARD...AND ADDITIONAL 1
TO 2 FOOT AMOUNTS INTO WESTERN WYOMING AND GENESEE COUNTIES. THE TUG
HILL WILL MAINTAIN ITS REPUTATION OF ACCUMULATING A MORE PRODIGIOUS
SNOWFALL ON THE ORDER OF 3 TO 4 FEET...OR MORE...AS SNOWFALL RATES
OF 3 TO 4 INCHES PER HOUR ARE NOT OUT OF QUESTION.

i kno I woke up at 430 from thunder and haven't been able to fall back asleep since. Gonna stay up for at least another half hour to watch the news, then gonna enjoy my day off and sleep in for a while!

Yeah same here. Then going to take the most epic walk ever this afternoon. Going to take some video and get some amazing pics!
