  1. Sun has been in and out of the clouds in Arlington since 9:00 or so. As soon as it pops out it the atmosphere just feels primed.
  2. Around Washington-Liberty, yeah it was. Touched down near the Chipotle off 29. Anyways, seems like you might’ve had a decent microburst near you. Just a guess from these photos, but Nottingham took a beating.
  3. Think you might’ve been… tornado day was rather memorable. July 1st, IIRC.
  4. Right after I sent the message the power went out but luckily has returned, for the time being. Got way gustier than I expected for a few minutes. Still definitely #2, but last few minutes were intense.
  5. Dumping and power flickering. Doesn’t compare to the tornadic one earlier this summer, but probably second best of the summer, unless I’m forgetting anything.
  6. Hearing a lot of distant thunder in Arlington. Looks like a good one coming in.
  7. That has been one slow moving blob of rain. Fairly impressive totals. Getting some decent drizzle now here.
  8. Wasn't all that much, but was really heavy for a minute or two. Sun is already shining again.
  9. Looked outside and pretty shocked to see it raining. Woo pop-up storms.
  10. Google Photos says that was Feb. 11, 2021 - my memory is already bad but I think that was the second part of the HECS that wasn't from the 10th-12th, the one where the HDRPS dumped 30" on Baltimore.
  11. I was feeling tired of summer so I started digging through my photos from winter... need some more of this ASAP.
  12. Two hours of sporadic thunder, but nary a drop to show for it. Worst kind of summer pool day.
  13. Storm over Reston went up quick. Noisy thunder a decent deal away in Arlington.
  14. rumbling thunder is disrupting my meet though. Pretty strange.
  15. well, I didn’t get my over performer either. Heard thunder though, so I’ll take that as a win.
  16. Very true, though I'm selfishly talking about myself/areas around the metro. I'll take the (surprise?) initiation of showers storms west of Culpeper as a decent sign.
  17. Got a gut feeling today that thunderstorms will overperform. Expectations are in the basement so plenty of room to be wrong.
  18. Think the HWRF was wrong. I take back all my praise.
  19. In a slightly more favorable environment…
  20. Pouring and loud thunder in NW Arlington. Feels decently tropical.
  21. Dale City storm is rotating, as far as I can tell. Wouldn’t be shocked to have that get a TOR. nothing special, but these all seem to have that shrimpy tropical look.
  22. HWRF is a fantastic model, IMO. It's had some absolutely uncanny perfect results when it comes to TC development/strength. Feel like it may be a little aggressive around here but I'm hoping I'm wrong.
  23. Burke Center - they run two teams (both of which are CSL)
