Excuse my ignorance but what are the chances this falls as virga since I am assuming the air will be bone dry? I can remember a storm or two where we had the precip overhead but never made it to the ground for the duration. -

I’m not worried but I have seen it go from single digits to rain in the 80s. It can happen. . -

My daughter will be at the same tournament. I hope they cancel or end it on Saturday. If this thing becomes a giant storm its going to be a disaster for my wife driving. It's almost 2 hour trip home and will likely be double that. -

Who’s ready for the 2-9” snowfalls tomorrow? [emoji23] .

WWA here. I got you all beat. I never seen this before - ever. . -
The ignore feature is well used on this site. Give it a try. .
-
Still have snow cover except where I walked and drove the quad. Too bad temps don’t crash and leave a frozen base for next weeks potential storm. .
-
Plenty of snow left but I doubt it will survive past tomorrow night. .
-
Well, its either 36 hours or 36 seconds.
-
I am hoping for an unforeseen change in the weather just like the week before Christmas that was advertised as a warm up and then suddenly the models reversed course. I have about 6” of snow left on the ground after the last rainstorm. Going to be painful to lose my winter wonderland. .
-
Around 8” here. Very impressive rates. .
-
7.5” inches in Beekman, Dutchess County. Powder Heaven. .
-
Look at the STLR for my neck of the woods! Snow to liquid ratios will be at or above the climo normals in the 13-17:1 range from south to north across the forecast area. The precipitation efficiency will be the best in the southern most zones based on the latest hi resolution and short range guidance, as the best dendritic growth zone will be higher across the northern zones. All said, a widespread moderate to locally heavy snow event is expected over the forecast area. .
-
23° and blustery. Going down to 11° tonight. Everything should accumulate with ease tomorrow especially with leftover snow cover from the other day. .
-
Definitely not first time. .
-
So one model has a crazy run and it’s suicide watch? Unbelievable. .
-
The NWS finally woke up and put us under a WSW for my area. 5”-7” for my area. Would I like higher amounts than that? Sure! But we have done pretty well up here for December having snow on the ground for a few weeks. It’s a white Christmas for us. .
-
Meanwhile I don’t have any watches or advisories for my area. Very odd since everyone else has them. .

Daily commute back from NYC was interesting. No snow until Yonkers then further north the more snow there was. Peak snow was between Pudding Street Exit and Cold Spring Exit. Snow all the way until 84 then practically nothing until Sylvan Lake exit and it started picking up again further North. Didn’t look like much at my exit RT 82 until I got to my house which is 720’ up then plowable snow. My father said we got about 3 before it started melting/compacting. .
