I told my wife we should list the house, sell it, pocket the 300-400k and live in our cars until the market comes back down. In all seriousness, a guy I worked with did probably the best thing you could do. Late last year he sold his house he had just paid off, made a ridiculous amount over asking, pocketed all of, and is living in an in law with his daughter now. He said when the market comes back to earth he’ll probably buy a small condo with his wife. The dude pocketed at least half a million dollars

I ended up buying a Ford Edge titanium with 23k miles on it for $32,500… definitely a little higher than probably a non covid time… but it was certainly offset and then some by the truck

The price of a new truck is so cost prohibitive unless you’re making big bucks. Some on the lot today we’re early over 90k

It’s a 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT Z71… I bought it with 68k miles for $27000… I traded it in today with 79k miles for $31000.

They gave me 4K more for my trade than I paid foe the truck in February 2020. Absolutely absurd. Never a better time to get rid of a good truck than right now.

I got them to actually beat the 3.19% I got through Bank of America. They were able to get me 2.64%.

They would not move on the price of the vehicle I was buying… they were prepared to to let me walk. The truck I was trading in is in excellent condition and is fully loaded with a bunch of extras. They originally offered me towards the lower end of kbb and I said no way… I ended up getting a bit more than KBB value for the truck:.. I had a number in my head I wanted to get too, and I got to it, just not how I envisioned it happening. The salesman said if I wanted to buy new their would probably be more wiggle room than used right now

So I’m at the dealer right now…. Love the car. I haven’t revealed I have financing yet. But I did find out they will not do business with any bank that isn’t in their “dealer network” or whatever. I know already that Bank of America is in that network; but that’s pretty crazy. You basically can’t come in with financing from your local credit union, they’ll turn it down.

Thanks. I’m looking at a Ford Edge titanium. My commute with my new gig just tripled, so I can’t keep the gas guzzling truck. I usually pass on all warranties. My brother worked at a dealership as a mechanic, and he said they just aren’t worth it; as they don’t end up covering what people thing they do.

So I got approved for auto financing through Bank of America. I have the letter they say to print out so the dealership can use it. Im looking at a vehicle tomorrow. Should I without the information that I am already approved? Or come right out with it?

They’ve lost their bloody minds over there in Australia. Crikey. The hilarious thing is, these intense lockdowns are doing nothing for them.
